School of Vocational Education (SVE)

TISS established School of Vocational Education in December 2011 to spearhead the Vocational Education and Training in India. The Dean of SVE is Dr. Neela Dabir

TISS SVE is running ECD program from 8 different locations in India. NWWA Delhi being the only one offering this course in Delhi NCR

Courses are approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India

OBJECTIVES To provide ladies appropriate vocational courses through Work

Integrated Training Program from a reputed Institute like TISS-SVE

To Provide a second chance to our ladies who have not completed their graduation by waiving off the age limit

To Empower our ladies to professionally qualify to become Pre-Primary Teachers

To Empower our qualified ladies to become freelance Trainers or further enhance their qualification

To benefit the community at large by reaching out to the dependants of service personnel , Sahara widows and wives of Defence civilians & Ex-servicemen of the navy

ECD Course FEEs & Structure

Total course Fees is Rs. 27000 /- per year

payable to

TISS-SVE at the beginning of the year at the time of admission

Tuition Fees Rs. 12000/- per semester

Examination Fees Rs. 1500/- per semester

(There are two semesters in a year)

The Course structure consists of

Theory Classes ----- 270 hrs per semester

Vocational Practical ----- 360 hours per semester

Field trips, skill enhancement work shops etc.

UNDERSTANDING WORK INTEGRATED TRAINING PROGRAMME

Combination of Work Experience + Theory Training

More emphasis on Vocational training and less weight-age on Theory Classes

4 days Work Experience in pre- school, Nurseries and Crèches. 2 days a week Classroom learning.

Half Yearly rotation of Work experience. Experience certificate will be given by the schools at the end of the course.

THEORY CLASSES

Theory classes are conducted by Qualified Trainers selected &

empanelled by TISS-SVE

Theory classes are conducted in Smart Class rooms located in

the Navy School premises to aid easy access to students for

their practical classes

VOCATIONAL PRACTICALS

For the ECD course Vocational Practicals are conducted at

• NWWA Creche

• Little Angels

• Naval Kindergarten

• Navy Children School( Class 1 & 2)

METHODS OF ASSESSMENT

Internal Assessment is done by the Theory trainers on the basis

of monthly Assignments given by them to the students.

Weekly assessments are done by the Schools where students

are doing their practicals

Written Examination are

conducted at the end of

each semester with

external invigilation by

TISS-SVE

Viva Voce is conducted at the end

of each semester to assess the

skills gained by the students

during vocational practicals

Train The Trainer Program

TTT PROGRAM

Train The Trainer program conducted for qualified ladies to learn the Art & Science of Training & Development to become freelance trainers.

Short Term Certificate Course for 30 hrs spread over 5 days.

Class room training combined with lot of group activities and presentations. Assessment done through written examination and Mock training sessions
