Vigor 2860 as VDSL Modem
The Vigor 2860 router has been added to the ‘Approved Modem List’ by BT wholesale as an appropriate device to terminate an FTTC connection on.
In most cases when you receive your Vigor router it will be pre-configured for this service, however, if you are replacing a faulty Openreach modem there are some settings to change. There is a guide below for this procedure or, alternatively, call our Customer Care Team who will take care of this for you on 0345 145 1234.

You will see the below screen when you log in to the router. In the left hand menu, select the WAN option and, in the resulting drop-down box, Internet Access.

On the WAN 1 line select PPPoE/PPoA from the Access Mode drop-down box and click on the Details Page.
Enter the Username and Password for your FTTC internet connection in the ISP Access Setup section. This information is provided to you in the introductory details document for your service - if you require this to be sent to you again, please contact our Customer Care Team. Once this has been done, click OK.
In the left hand menu, select WAN and General Setup from the resulting drop-down box. This will bring up the screen below. Select WAN 1 under the Index column.

This will bring up the screen below. In the VLAN Tag Insertion (VDSL 2) drop-down box, select Enable. Enter 101 into the TAG value field. Click OK.
The setup is now complete and the Vigor router can be used as a VDSL modem.
