times over 520 metres at Wentworth Park (29.69), three
times over 400 metres at Bulli (22.30), twice over 400
metres at Richmond (22.32), twice over 457 metres at

whelped in November 2014 by Surf Lorian, then she
has since whelped a litter of six dogs and two bitches by
Surf Lorian, in June 2015.
Fancy that WOODVIEW breeder, Robert Cooke has a litter of five
pups on the list this week, by the well bred, ever
consistent sire Smooth Fancy (November 2007
Collision x Flash Fancy).
The three dogs and two bitches are from the very
well bred bitch, Cash Will Do (January 2011 Vapour
Whirl x Teddy’s Jackpot), whose dam is by Go Wild
Teddy x Pretty Lee (Token Prince x Pretty Peaches.
Cash Will Do is from her dam’s first Vapour
Whirl litter, which included Beau Ryan, Mr. Sheen,
Vapour Shadow, Vapour’s Jackpot, Watta Jackpot and
White Whirl.
Their dam, Teddy’s Jackpot had more success
with the second Vapour Whirl litter, which included
Albeemack, Cash King, Master Jackpot, Miss Jackpot
and Our Magnate.
She also had considerable success with her final
litter, whelped in September 2013 by Smooth Fancy,
which produced Caramel Delight, Cash In Motion,
Cashpot, Jackpot’s Girl and Major Jackpot.
She had previously whelped a July 2009 litter, by
Hot Syrup, which produced Syrup’s Hot and Wal’s
Bonanza.
Cash Will Do raced 23 times, for seven wins and
seven placings, winning twice over 411 metres at
Casino (23.01), where she also won over 484 metres
(27.47), twice over 520 metres at Lismore (30.20),
where she also won over 420 metres (24.17) and also
over 366 metres at Capalaba (20.07).
Litter of three OUR final litter for review from this week’s NSW list is
a litter of three bitches, by international stud success,
Taylors Sky* (March 2009 Westmead Hawk x Rising
Angel), whose dam is by Droopys Kewell x Rising
Singer (Highway Leader x Rising Dowry).
Registered by Spring Hill breeder, Scott Board,
these three beautifully bred youngsters are from the
well bred bitch Erza Allen (March 2012 Collide x
Jamison Bale), whose dam is by Bond x Tannice Bale
(Head Honcho x Jindara Bale) and worth recalling,
Jindara Bale is by Grove Whisper* x Star Lee).
She is from her dam’s only litter, which included
Allen Firestorm, Allen Gravion, Compa Allen, Deli
Allen, Hatalia Bale, Kiki Allen and Lyrical Allen.
Her contribution to the litter’s success was seven
wins and seven placings from 25 starts, with two wins
over 525 metres at The Meadows (30.18), two wins
over a410 metres at Horsham (23.26), where she also
won over 480 metres (27.12) and single wins over 460
metres at Warragul (25.94) and 460 metres at Geelong
(25.83).

Shima Bar Hits the right Note in the Paws of
Thunder By Jeff Collerson GRNSW Website
Shima Bar, having only his 13th race and at 23 months
of age among the "babies'' of the field, gave all
conquering Victorian trainer Andrea Dailly yet another
Group 1 victory in Saturday night's Ladbrokes Paws Of
Thunder at Wentworth Park.
Shima Bar ($3.10), who is eligible for next
Saturday's Group 1 National Derby heats in Sydney,
trailed the Jason Magri-trained Clock's Ticking ($9.80)
for most of the race, but swept to the lead at the top of
the straight for two lengths win.
Clock's Ticking was runner-up with another NSW
trained greyhound, the Paul Braddon-prepared Falcon's
Fury ($4.20), a luckless third, one-and-a-half lengths
away.
Falcon's Fury, a near fool proof beginner until
overcoming a slow start to win his Thunder heat on
January 14, missed the jump again.
After joining Shima Bar in second spot at the first
turn, Falcon's Fury lost all chance when the ultimate
winner shifted wide and checked the local star.
Striker Light did not begin with her usual
brilliance and after colliding with Blabba Mouth soon
after the start, was never a chance and finished fifth.
After the race Shima Bar's part-owner David
Gleeson paid his youngster the ultimate tribute, rating
him superior to his dam Shimaguni and Shima Song, the
Thunder winner's older half-sister.
Gleeson and fellow part-owner Bob Cummings
won 21 of 42 races with Shimaguni while Shima Song
has won 20 from 47 appearances.
"Shima Bar is faster than either of them,'' Gleeson
said after Saturday night's win. "Bob Cummings and I
have bred and raced greyhounds in partnership for 40
years and we have never had a cross word.''
Dublin Bull ($20.10) completed a big night for Victoria
and trainer Jeff Britton when he scored an upset all-the-
way win in Saturday's other group race, the group 2
Ladbrokes Summer Plate final, 720m.
Dublin Bull had led to the home bend but faded to
finish fourth to It's A Fling in his heat, but after making
the pace again in the final went to the line solidly to
score by two lengths.
Odds-on favourite Burn One Down ($1.50) and the
Michael Eberand-trained Ebby Ripper ($8.40) flashed
home late to take out the placings, but all honours were
with the winner.
"The track was faster in the final than it was for the
heats and the quicker surface suited a front-runner like
Dublin Bull,'' Britton said later.
"He is not a true stayer but he is partial to
Wentworth Park and when he jumped to the front on a
dry track he was always going to improve on his heat
run.''
The Britton kennel won a treble on Saturday, with
National Derby hopeful Alpha Lucky winning a 520m
fifth grade in 30.03 and Britton's partner Angela
Langton's Kumbia Lass, a National Futurity
candidate, leading throughout in a similar grade in 30.08.
Ebby Ripper's trainer Michael Eberand,
disappointed when Barking Bad was run down by Shima
Bar in his Paws Of Thunder heat, picked up a
consolation $15,000 when that greyhound took out
The Collerson (520m).
Barking Bad was slowly away but railed into
second position entering the back straight and roared
past pacemaker Mainline Osti leaving the back straight
to win by nearly five lengths.
Ironically Barking Bad's time for the 520m, 29.78,
was much quicker than the 29.92 posted by Shima Bar in
the Thunder final.
"I was not happy with his Paws Of Thunder heat
run so I brought Barking Bad back to Wentworth Park
last Tuesday night and gave him another look at the
track,'' Eberand said later.
"Normally I would not do that so close to a race
but it made the difference to Barking Bad tonight,''
Eberand said. After the placed runners in the Paws the
field finished in the following order Brad Hill Billy
($6.70), Striker Light ($3.60), Blabba Mouth ($27.80),
Lowanna’s Son ($28.90) and Magic Lace ($38.60).
Shima Bar is a Black dog whelped February 2015 by
Barcia Bale from Shimaguni (Primo Uno x Messines).
Shima Bar is raced by David Gleeson & Bob
Cummings and trained by Andrea Dailly at Corio in
Victoria. Continued Page 12
Paws Of Thunder night wrap up, continued He has raced 13 times for nine wins and two placings.
After adding the $75,000 first prize for the Paws
of Thunder his stake earnings stand at $98,915.
After the placings in the Summer Plate the field
finished in the following order Runaway Bono ($6.50),
Miss Foxy Lee ($18.80), Celestial Folk ($46.30), It’s A
Fling ($12.50) and Very Choosy ($15.20).
Dublin Bull is a Black dog whelped October 2013
by Barcia Bale from Chasin The Dream (Lonesome Cry
x Dreamy Blossom). Dublin Bull is raced by Steven
Hynes and trained by Jeff Britton of Anakie in Victoria.
He has raced 69 times for 20 wins and 13 placings. His
stake earnings stand at $157,853.

Fact Sheets MUZZLE TRAINING
The most important aspect of training your dog to accept
wearing a muzzle is to ensure that it is connected with
positive experiences from the outset.
Generally, dogs do not like having a muzzle put on
for the first couple of times and sometimes they will try
to take them off for varying lengths of time. In order to
avoid this situation, the muzzle should be introduced
gradually in a positive manner.
The greyhound muzzle not only allows dogs to
breathe and pant, it also allows you to give treats
through gaps which can make getting used to it much
easier.
To introduce a muzzle:-
1. Put a piece of your dog’s favourite food in the bottom
of the muzzle and bring it up to the dog’s nose.
2. He or she will smell the food in the muzzle, and
should put their nose into it themselves.
Gently slide the muzzle over the dog’s nose, enable
them to get the treat, then remove the muzzle again.
3. Repeat this exercise, leaving the muzzle on for longer
each time. Use the word “muzzle” when you are putting
it on so it is associated with the action.
4. The muzzle will eventually become associated with
being removed from a kennel and this becomes
rewarding in itself.

REMOTE CONTROL COURSING LURE
TRAX 4WD modified, Soft fat tyres, sound attracter,
toy tow bar, 100kph
This car is not a small cheapie, the car is TRAX 4WD
Truck, however Graham Moscow from Greyhound
Gear calls it car.
The car must be safe and big enough so pups can't
drag off to the dam.
Theory is to course pups three to six months in a
pack, a maximum of four to five times.
Elite State lodge have coursed five litters this year
and found this method works 100%
Pups that chased in pack were all easy break ins.
Wheeler kennels purchased a car and Brendan
Wheeler said he was very happy with it.
Longwood trainer Michael Barry has just ordered
a car and Greyhound Gear are currently modifying it for
him.
Graham has a video of pups chasing the car,
which he will email the link to, if you contact him.
I have had a look at the video and it won’t take
long to convince you what a fantastic product this is,
and just how keenly the pups chase after it.
Looks certain to be a valuable tool for breeders to
educate their young pups with, and from the look of it,
it will make the breakers job much easier when the pups
go to him, or if you are breaking your own pups in.
Why not give Graham a call and have a chat with
him about this amazing product.
He can then answer any of your question, discuss
pricing options, delivery time etc.
