Sewing Instructions

HAT SEWING DIRECTIONS1. Baste thin crinoline cut same as HAT, to wrong side of HAT, at all edges.2. Seam Hat at straight edges, matching VVV-largeO. Trim crinoline seams closely.

3. Trim seam and press open. 4. Seam lining same as outside. Trim and press. 5. Baste lining to HAT, wrong sides together at outer edges, matching centers.

6. Tack seams together loosely from inside7. seam HAT FACING matching v8. Pin grosgrain ribbon 7/8” wide to inner seam-line on HAT FACING, as illustrated, lapping

ribbon at seam, turning end. Baste and stitch.

9. Seam HAT FACING, right sides together, matching centers, seams and V-VV. Trim seams to 1/4”.

10. Turn and baste edge. Press11. Tack ribbon band to lining, not catching through to outside, easing ribbon.

12. Fold top of HAT on small o fold-line toward seam and press, as illustrated.13. Use a piece of 1-3/4” ribbon 9- 1/2” long for trim14. Notch ends of ribbon as illustrated

15. Fold ribbon in half and pin to seam 3/4” below fold-line.16. Pin point of HAT over ribbon and tack securely, catching through all thicknesses, as illustrated,

having stitches 1/2” long and sewing over and over.

17. Turn HAT up on small oo Roll-line, forming brim.

HANDBAG SEWING DIRECTIONS

1. baste thin crinoline to wrong sides of SECTIONS 1 and 2 at all edges.2. Seam SECTION 1 to section 2 below □ matching □ -VV. Trim crinoline seam closely.

3. Clip to □ and press seam open. 4. Seam SECTIONS 1 Together at handle matching V, as illustrated

5. Seam SECTIONS 2 the same, matching VV, press seams open6. Turn under and baste seam allowance between □ 's as illustrated7. Stitch basted edges and each side of seam8. Clip seam allowance on SECTION 1 to small oo. Turn under and baste seam allowance

between clips and stitch edge.

9. Clip SECTION 2 to large OO, baste and stitch same as section 110. Seam bag right sides together, between large OO-small oo, matching large OO-VVV-V-V-small

oo and seams. Trim seams.11. Turn and baste, sticth edge of bag to look continuous with other stitching.

12. Seam SECTION 1 and 2 lining, matching □-VV. Clip to □ and press seam open13. Seam facing to top of POCKET14. Turn and baste finished edge. Baste raw edges together.

15. Pin POCKET over lining, matching V-VVV, large O Stitching-line over seam. Baste at outer edges.

16. Baste and stitch along stitching-line17. Seam bag and linine between large OO-small oo, matching V-V-VVV and seams, and at top of

sections, matching notches. Trim seams and turn. Press

18. Slip lining into bag, matchinig corresponding perforation and seams.

19. Turn in lining between □ 's, small oo's, and large OO's and slip-sticth to bag as illustrated20. Pull long loop through short loop, forming handle.
