• Developed in Japan to track Toyota car parts in 1994

How do I read QR Codes?• QR Codes can be used with a mobile device like a

smart phone or a tablet that has a built in camera and access to the internet

• The device must have an QR Code reader app (also called scanner) installed

• There are many apps to choose from. • Scan for Apple devices• QR Droid for Android devices

NOTE: QR Code Readers should be FREE & should not require any personal information

The QR Code Reader app uses the camera on your device to scan the code and then uses the internet to interpret the instructions in the code

• Helps everyone get to he same place online at the same time

• Supports using video, audio, visual resources inside and outside the classroom

• Teachers and students can create them• Feels like Magic

Steps to Using in Education1. First consider what is the learning goal

2. Make sure you and your students have devices that can read QR Codes

3. If devices do not have QR Code Readers, take time out to download the appropriate app some days before you plan to use QR Codes in class

Make Your Own QR Code1. Copy the link to the website you would like to share

using a QR Code

2. Paste the link in the shorten bar in Bitly and click shorten

3. Copy the resulting shortened Bitly link and paste in the Address bar on your browser

4. Add .qr at the end of the shortened link and hit the enter key on your keyboard

5. Your QR code will show up on the screen. Right click on it to copy or save

Analytics

With an account you can also track how many times the URL/QR Code you created has been clicked.
