Meet Sally – An employee with a problem Nobody outside her department uses the great

documents she creates

Nodoby outside her department don’t know how to do the stuff that Sally knows, so they do it their way.

Most times, their way isn’t so great.

Meet the Team – they have a problem

They spend too much time creating materials that Sally should be making for them

They know their materials arent’ that good, but what choice do they have?

Sally wants to solve the problem Sally is going to create a collaborative site with

EditMe where she share her know-how, and educate the rest of the team on how to do stuff.

Sally wants to solve the problem

The Team is too busy to care.

Sally is going to create a collaborative site with EditMe where she share her know-how, and educate the rest of the team on how to do stuff.

One Setting to Rule Them All SOLUTION: Sally creates an

EditMe site that everyone can view and only she can edit

Eureka: The Team Likes it! NEW PROBLEM: Bob has a

great idea on how to make Sally’s ideas even better

Let’s start collaborating

Hey, we want access to that great site too!

In fact, we ALL want access to that site

Create groups of multiple users that are similar.

Administrators control which users are in which group.

Can also be used as email notification lists.

A group is a collection of similar people.

We need some structure

Policies replace default security settings.

Defines read/write access for all Groups, including Public and Registered.

Apply policies to specific pages using the Advanced tab of the editing screen.

A policy says what people in groups can do in the site

Now, everyone can collaborate freely

New pages can inherit security settings from the page last viewed.

Enable Sticky Page Security in the Site Security settings screen.

EditMe doesn’t use the concepts of folders or sections.

How it all fits together

Sally has solved a lot of problems

In Summary - You’ve got options With EditMe, your sites’ security starts with sensible defaults.

Site-wide settings apply to most commonly needed configurations.

Page-level over-rides handle exceptions.

Groups & policies handle complex access control scenarios.
