A Kik Start for your New Year Resolution
Since Andy took up vaping he’s been on a quest to find the best quality kits, batteries that have the longest life and
finest e-liquids available. He’s already had the pleasure of using NeoCig (which we reviewed here) whose style is
unlike regular e-cigarettes taking on more a sophisticated colour coordinated look to them. This time he’s been
trying out the new KiK Vape 02 Starter Kit (£19.95) with 4 fruity premium e-liquids.
First glance it’s incredibly similar to the Riva-T (Ego) 900mAh so we’re expecting it to last just as long (6 months
is pretty good for the battery to last so we’ll come back to this and let you know in due course). The clearomiser is
different to the Vision Ego V3 to fill as he would remove the tip, pouring the e-liquid down the inside to the wick
from the top but this one you have to remove the bottom of the clearomiser and fill from there, replacing the
bottom which then screws onto the battery ready for use.
To charge the battery, you unscrew the clearomiser, clean away any liquid that may be on it, screw it into the USB
charger and then plug the USB into your computer, charging plug or however you are going to use it. It takes on
average for a 900mAh battery a few hours to charge fully but that can last Andy up to a week before it needs
charging again as he only uses it when we’re watching TV in the evening. If you were using it constantly then it
would probably need a refill of liquid before it needed a recharge of battery so a couple of days at the most.
To use, first click the button quickly a few times (this also turns it off as well as on) and then press and keep your
finger on it while inhaling. Comparing it to the aspire which he uses regularly you get a lot more steam from the
KiK quite a decent hit from the liquid even though it’s 1.2% nicotine. I personally (but then I have never smoked,
nor do I vape) but I don’t think you should have a nicotine option for the fruit or even any of the other flavours but I
guess if you are using them to wean yourself off of cigarettes, you need the hit rather than the addition of the
carcinogens that are responsible for the ill effects of smoking.
Available in 4 different colours, the kit is versatile to be mixed and matched with various outfits, moods or styles.
It’s pretty unisex if you don’t mind the bulkier of kits (mainly because you get a lot more liquid in them and battery
life so they can be used for longer). My sister on the other hand prefers the thinner ones so she’d be looking at
the Innokin Lily Starter Kit (£38.95) which is thinner, a lot more colourful but with less battery life.
Onto the liquids. As Andy used to like a cigar, I get him specialist cigar e-liquid which is imported from the USA
but after trying NeoCig he started taking an interest in the fruit flavours. We received 4 bottles (which has a very
fine dripper) out of the many flavours available and if I’m honest, they smell fabulous. In the past he’s tried fruit
liquid and we’ve ended up with a burnt sugar smell enveloping our senses but the fragrance from the KiK
Premium American E-Liquid is pretty similar to a fruit smelling plug in. This afternoon I was treated to the aroma
of banana and pecan with a teaser of pink lemonade which incidentally quenched my sweet tooth – and I was
only a spectator!
Eliquids start from £3.95 and you can pick 3 lots up for £10 at the moment and receive a free “flavour of the
month.” Overall 4 liquids are the equivalent to 35 packets of cigarettes. That’s one hell of a saving for both your
health and your pocket.
It’s a brilliant price for an all in one kit that’s simple to use and understand. Take a look at the video and see for
yourself!

Are You A Vaper? Vape Reviews For The Curious
E cigarettes contain a mechanism that heats up liquid nicotine, which produces vapour. This means that you can
enjoy smoking while ingesting comparatively fewer harmful chemicals than if you were burning tobacco, and
there’s no bad-smelling smoke left clinging to your hands, hair and clothes.
Note: lack of e-cig regulation
Because they don’t contain tobacco, e cigarettes aren’t subject to the laws and regulations that restrict tobacco
cigarettes. This is a major reason why the NHS hasn’t yet recommended them to patients who are keen to quit
smoking, because there is no formal quality control over e cigarettes imported and sold in kiosks, malls or online.
Another important thing to note is that nicotine is an addictive substance, and so it’s essential to think carefully
before purchasing one of these devices. Part of the current controversy is around the fact that children can
purchase e cigarettes in flavours like cherry, strawberry or cookies and cream, the use of which may lead to
nicotine addiction later in life.
Starter kits & replacement cartridges
Now, if you’re venturing down the path of the vaper, the first product you’ll need is a starter kit. Most e cig
companies sell these kits, which consist of a USB rechargeable battery and cartridges. The cartridge screws into
the battery and can be replaced when the taste starts to fade (in general, this lasts longer than your average pack
of smokes). It’s great because you can shop around and compare prices and aesthetics as much as you like.
The best E cigarettes for beginners
Vapers report in general that the cost, convenience (you can smoke e cigarettes in some pubs and restaurants)
and taste or lack of smell are big advantages of using these devices. I think another benefit is being able to use
them indoors at work, which is less disruptive and of course an appeal to any business’s health care policy in
general.
E-Lite E200 electronic cigarette starter kit (£39.99)
This starter kit comes in a reassuringly familiar cigarette-style case. Inside is a USB charger and e cigs that very
much resemble their tobacco counterparts, but which apparently hold much more smoking time for your money’s
worth (200 cigarette’s worth). The ordering process is quick and efficient).
V2 cigs beginners kit (£29.99)
Another brand that has a good presence in the UK market, V2 has a wide range of beginners’ kits. This kit is
available in a choice of three different strengths, red or menthol flavours, and includes battery, charger, cartridges
and disposable e cigarette. For those interested in trying the flavours, there’s a sample pack that has 10 different
flavours includes chocolate, cherry and mint tea.
Totally Wicked Microlite start kit (£29.99)
For some reason this site doesn’t fill me with a lot of confidence, but this kit comes with a sexy black portable
charging case, meaning you can vape on the move! Otherwise it’s the standard battery and cartridge or
“cartomizer” combined.
If you’re worried about not being in the smokers’ club anymore, never fear! Vapers seem to be very pro-vaping
and they even have their own vaping forums and festivals, where people can share stories and advice. So, have
you, will you, ever try an e cigarette? Tell us your stories in the comments!

Electric Tobacconist – Kits and ELiquids Review
Andy’s enjoyed the last few days as he’s been asked to review some more vaping kits. I was never a huge fan of
him smoking in general because I had dated a guy when I was a teen that smoked and quite frankly and
honestly, he used to stink. Andy was not a big smoker but when he announced he was giving up when we got
together I was overjoyed. Vaping is a much cleaner, healthier and more cost effective habit if you need to have to
have the physical element of putting something in your mouth to keep yourself from stresses and strains, without
all the destructive carcinogens invading your body so it’s something I applaud the people who supply electric
cigarettes and kits such as Electric Tobacconist who have been kind enough to provide Andy with this latest set.
The Vapouriz eGo Tank Kit – a new one to
Andy but pretty much a now standard form in
the way of a clearomizer and battery with
USB charger. Supplied in a tin with foam
shaped holder so perfect to store in your bag
so it doesn’t get broken however the outer
box took me a little while to get into as I
couldn’t grip hold of the tin enough to pull it
out. A few quick jolts were all it needed to
land nicely on the table.
I then handed it to Andy and he continued to
set it all up. The battery looked slightly
smaller than the other batteries that he’s tried
with clearomizers, and he did comment that it
felt as if it were made of plastic since it was
so incredibly light. I must admit, it didn’t look
as stylish as the other kits he’s tried as the
finish on the Chrome Blue wasn’t particularly
fabulous but as long as it worked well and
lasted well, he wasn’t too fussed and being
an entry level starter kit, it gives you the
opportunity to try the layout as well as trying
a free different liquids before getting stuck into longer lasting batteries and bigger clearomizers.
The clearomizer supplied with the starter kit only has 2 wicks. Generally Andy uses a 4 wick clearomizer as they
seem to burn better and give him a better hit, but he wanted to try the kit as a whole for now so has stuck to the 2
wick for this review. It’s available in 4 beautiful colours, so pretty much unisex in looks. Small 650mAh battery so
should last around 6 hours but do have a range or around 4-16 hours depending how often you use it.
Easy to connect to the clearomizer supplied
which is a CE4 with a long wick. If you use a
slightly better quality clearomizer like the
Innokin iClear 16 (above) then you will see
that it is a little bigger when wound onto the
battery thread. Don’t worry too much about
this as it will still work perfectly well, just
looks a little wider.
Electric Tobacconist also supply e-liquids
which Andy received the Classic Tobacco
(1.8% nicotine) and the Double Apple (1.8%).
Made in Britain, and both have a thin dropper
attached to the bottle. This makes it really
easy to fill the clearomizer, which this time
you take the mouthpiece off and fill directly
through the top, making sure not to get any of
the liquid in the mouthpiece part, directly
aiming the dropper down the side where the
wick lies.
He totally loved the classic tobacco (which I
thought he wouldn’t be keen on as he
regularly uses a cigar e-liquid) but so far it
gets a big thumbs up. He says it tastes
between a decent cigarette and a cigar with
a huge throat hit due to the 1.8% nicotine.
The double apple however wasn’t a favourite
at all, telling me that it was much like covonia
cough syrup and not much like apples, yet
overly sweet for his taste.
As a bystander the vapour that comes off of
these e-liquids doesn’t seem to fill the room
with any fragrance at all. If I didn’t see him
vaping, I wouldn’t actually know that he was
since I couldn’t see a lot of vapour, nor smell
it. Perfect I guess if you’d prefer to not to add
vaping scent to your everyday life.
Overall, for £19.99 which includes a free
10ml Vapouriz E-Liquid it’s fabulous value,
and £3.99 for the liquids, it’s a no brainer –
far more clean than smoking and easy on the
pocket. The kit is perfect for those that aren’t
massive on huge amounts of vapour and
fragrance and just want to have something
that keeps their hands busy, get their hit from the liquid and doesn’t want anything overly fussy.

Enlighten Your Neo Senses – Fruity Vaping At It’s Best
When I met Andy he admitted that he smoked. As an asthmatic it wasn’t the greatest news but as long as he didn’t
smoke around me I was ok with it. However he decided to give up without a second thought and so we never
faced the issue again. I would buy him the odd Havana cigar for special occasions or Christmas which he’d
savour over his mothers house or while he was fishing. My mother was also a smoker but when it wasn’t safe for
my her to carry on smoking, I bought her an electronic cigarette. When someone has Altzheimers and wants to
carry on smoking, it’s not a good idea unless it’s supervised but as I couldn’t supervisor her the next best thing
was the e-cigarette. Andy asked me at the time if they did cigar ones which they didn’t so I hunted around the
vaping forums for someone who could recommend cigar liquid to go with a vaping kit. I found one but as time
went on he got bored with it so wanted to try different ones. it also became quite difficult for him to take his vaping
kit everywhere with him so we looked into disposables.
Last week Andy got an amazing delivery from NeoCig which he has been using pretty much non stop. I originally I
had won an infinity pack from them which Andy loved and took with him everywhere but this week, he’s had the
opportunity to try NeoCig’s brand new NeoSenses Nicotine Free range which I think have some of the most
beautiful scents around. Apple, Grape, Strawberry, Watermelon, Blueberry, Cherry and Vanilla. His favourites right
now are Blueberry and Apple but when I opened the envelope it was like being enveloped by a fruit salad
perfume. Each one is presented in it’s own clear case with coloured label and rubber insert for keeping your e-
cigarette secure. The NeoSenses e-cigarette is a very slim, stylish and classy black with a corresponding light in
an “e” design for each of it’s fruity flavours, identical colour on the battery and a coloured foil circle on the
cartomizer – it’s very cute touch. The vape from them is thick and full of fruity essence. A lovely big cloud of water
vapour in delicious fragrances – you don’t need an air freshener – just get yourself one of these beauties.
At £7.99 each on the site, the Senses
are easily the most affordable e-
cigarette on the market and since
you don’t have to refill them with
liquid, they’re neat and user friendly.
Unisex in design, they will appeal to
women with their delightful range of
nicotine free Shisha flavours and
appeal to men with the slick classic
black body. In fact they’re quite
sophisticated in design therefore you
wouldn’t associate them with
cigarettes. The overall construction is
so far from the stereotypical cigarette
design we have become accustomed
to that they are a fashion statement
in their own right.
The rechargeable Neo Infinity is also
similar in design with it’s black sleek
look – the only difference is, it’s
rechargeable so when the vape
starts to subside, screw it into the
USB charger (very well made too –
and so unlike some that my Mum
had which fell apart after using them
a few times) and then plug it into your computer or usb port. The Infinity comes with a Cool Mint cartomizer and a
Tobacco one. These are easily added removing both little red bungs and then screwing them together.
If you want to give the Infinity a try,
then at the moment NeoCig have a
very special introductory offer – buy
one Infinity Kick Start pack and get 3
Cartomisers free of charge for
£19.99. Prefer the Senses and run
out of the Shisha flavours – then
NeoCig produce a box of 6 for just
£39.99. Delivery is also speedy
taking you from order to in your hand
within a few days. Is it worth it?
Absolutely. NeoCig has an incredibly
user friendly website, their products
are far superior than any I’ve seen in
the past, they’re far, far cheaper than
buying carcinogenic cigarettes and a
lot more economical in the long term.
If you want to make the move over to
vaping then these should be your
first stop.
