creating custom surfboards with a strong focus on functionality,

form and a bit of 60’s and 70’s flair. I’m also a mad cyclist, my

What’s your street style? I’m most comfortable in an old t-shirt

and some well worn jeans or elastic waist shorts. Simple things

and understated always wins.

Favourite Brand? Stussy do some really good stuff, they have a

really good eye for design while having some heritage to it too.

Obey always have some pretty tidy shirts as well.

Favourite hangout? Black Coffee Lyrics up in Surfers [sic] is

great. Good coffee, great food, nice selection of scotch,

super warm and cosy vibe. It’s at great odds with the general

perception of Surfers [sic] and a little hide away from the

chaos.

love this song? The last Justin Townes Earle album Nothing’s

Gonna Change the Way you Feel About Me Now had been on

repeat for the last few months. That whole album is amazing.

tumblr or instagram? I use Tumblr for my blog deadkooks.com,

I’m pretty hopeless with computers so the ease of use is perfect

but Instagram is where it’s at for sure. But I don’t have internet

and only just got a tv so I’m a little behind.

summer or winter? Summer for sure. Hard to beat living in

boardies, warm water and hot summer days. The waves

generally suck though. Autumn is probably my pick, April-May is

always special.

What’s your street style? I tend to wear lots of black and

layered jewellery but I love finding things with an unusual

pattern or colour too. I’m usually dressed pretty casually

and like to get my clothes from a bunch of different types of

places, then throw them on together.

Favourite hangout? Sourced Grocer in Teneriffe is so good

for weekend breakfasts. I like that you can eat your breakky

on the big windowsill or milk crates spilling out onto the

street, it’s a nice way to spend the morning. Then on Friday

nights you will find me at Black Bear Lodge.

Best coffee in Brisbane? I’m more of a tea person and

Dandelion & Driftwood have sooo many delicious teas.

Their melon green tea is yum! And they serve each tea with

a little card telling you all about it, which I think is a nice

touch.

What’s your street style? If you open my wardrobe, your

first impression would probably be that you’ve opened

up Katherine Heigl’s cupboard from the set of 27 Dresses,

although try adding about 90 more. I have a variety of

cherished goodies ranging from tulle tutus, sequined tops,

laced button-ups, vintage country dresses and flower

headbands. My style would probably be best pinned as a

toned-down version of a Harajuki Kawaii girl.

Favourite brand? At the moment my love is Finders Keepers.

Favourite hangout? When I’m with friends, it’s kicking

back at Harajuku Gyoza, feasting upon dumplings and

complimenting each other on our chopstick abilities.

Other than that, I enjoy hanging out at the RSPCA with the

animals. I recently scored an internship with them and got

to do some puppy training along with befriending some

Best coffee in Brisbane? If you’re a sucker for chocolate

like me, you definitely can’t go past the mochas served at

Bunker in Milton. The place has a relaxed vibe, friendly staff

and you can sip your cup of goodness surrounded by cool

creeping vines.
