Canada surrenders to the British in 1763: Treaty of Paris
Quebec came under Military rule Canadians were treated well. Governor
Carleton got along with Canadian people French fur merchants left France replaced
by Americans and Scottish “Montrealers”
After the Fall of Quebec
Traders not happy with the outcome of the war
Viewed Americans as a threat to their way of life
Lead to battles between First Nations and Americans
