There are two ways to describe things:

The restaurant is nice.

The adjective here looks backwards.

It is a nice restaurant.

The adjective here looks forwards.

Reported Speech

الكالم الغير مباشر

There are two ways of

reporting what a person says :

* He says he is going home .

* He said he was going home .

1- Direct speech الكالم المباشر

He said,“I am going home.”

*Put quotation marks ( “….“ ) before and after the speaker’s statement .

Direct speech

It reports the exact words the speaker says .

Change into reported speech

Indirect speech

Reported speech with a change of tense .
