Formerly known as the Trucial States, the United Arab Emirates are a federation of seven individual states, all ruled by emirs.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is a union of seven sovereign sheikhdoms, formed when the British withdrew from the Gulf in 1971.

country in the southeast of the Arabian Peninsula.

Culture – Dress CodeThere are legal guidelines as to what is not acceptable.

Dress codes for Women1.In public places, the dress code applies,including

malls, markets, cinemas, on the street, on the road in the car, super markets, public areas of hotels etc. 

2. Wear what one wants in their home.

or beach.

Most Emirati males prefer to wear a kandura, an ankle-length white tunic woven from wool or cotton, and most Emirati women wear an abaya, a black over-garment that covers most parts of the body.

Cultural clashThe UAE is a contradictory place where traditional Bedouin lifestyle meets Western consumerism and big-town bling.

These disparate influences have produced a nation that combines the cultures of conservative Islam and the liberal West in one package.

CUISINE

1. Stuffed Camel - It is also mentioned in Guiness Book of World Records as one of the biggest dishes served in this world. 

2. Al Harees - Al Harees is a famous dish of UAE with highly exotic taste.

3. Shawarma - It can be made with lamb or chicken. Different restaurants serve this dish in different manner

3. Al Machboos -  Important ingredients are rice, meat, onion and dried lemon (Loomy).

4. Hummus - It is not actually a dish, rather it is a famous dip made from chickpeas, olive oil, lemon juice, tahini paste, salt and garlic.

TEXTILE.• The textile industry in UAE encompasses several

categories such as woven, knitted and non-woven fabrics. The UAE textile market in 2011 was valued at USD 13 billion which has grown 9.9% during the period 2006-2011.

• UAE is one of the major textile markets of the world which includes fibers, fabrics, cloth, apparels, outerwear and several others.

• In 2011, UAE exported the maximum to the US (among the countries covered) at a value of USD 57.12 million.

Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi is the capital and the second largest city of the United Arab Emirates in terms of population and the largest of the seven member emirates of the United Arab Emirates. It lies on a T-shaped island extending into the Arabian Gulf from the central western coast. The city proper had a population of 621,000 in 2012.

Dubai

Dubai is a city in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), located within the emirate of the same name. The emirate of Dubai is located south east of the Persian Gulf on the Arabian Peninsula and is one of the seven emirates in the country. It has the largest population in the UAE and the second-largest land territory by area of all the emirates, after Abu Dhabi.

Palm Jumeirah (center) is one of the original palms and is a part in the trilogy of Dubai Palm. The names of the other two palms are Palm Jebel Ali and the Palm Deira. Mainly constructed to help solve dubai’s beach shortage problem.

Tallest building in the world about 828 meters, Burj Khalifa was designed to be the centerpiece of a large-scale and mixed-use development. The decision to build Burf Khalifa was mainly the government’s decision to diversify from an oil based economy to one that is service and tourism based.
