Performance A performance based video shows only the band or the artist

performing their song. A large variety of shots are normally used to make the video interesting. It is the cheapest and easiest type of video to make and is not as time consuming as other videos/

Narrative A narrative based music video mostly contains a story line. Often

the visuals and sound match and link together. If a song is featured in a film, often the music video will contain some footage from it.

An example of a narrative based music video is –Sam smith- ‘I'm not the only one’.

Conceptual Conceptual videos are based around a single concept or idea.

These videos are a lot harder to film as they often include special. They are often a lot harder to produce and cost a lot more. These types of videos also aren’t very popular as they are not very easy to relate to, so very few videos are purely conceptual.
