Celebrate Your Family Treasure...Grandparents Day is Today
When God created grandparents, the world was truly blessed with all the special joys that make a family happiest.
For grandparents know how to do the little things that warm our heart…
They touch our lives with love and care, right from the very start…
They show that they believe in us and all we’re dreaming of… When God created grandparents, he blessed our lives with love… ~Splash
Today Saints Simon and Jude Celebrates Sister Mary Beth Coyle! Right here Live and in Person One Day Only at 9:30 AM Mass and after Mass Hello!
Please remember to bring your cards, letters and notes of fond memories, good
wishes and blessed prayers for Sisters new assignment at Camilla Hall!
Let us make this farewell moment with Sister, who put so much of herself into SSJ Faith Formation, RCIA, Bereavement, Divorce and the best ever "go to gal” for
any Bible questions you could ever dream of, oh so joyful!
All COVID ~ 19 Protocols will be followed. Please come prepared..
The Paschal Mystery: The Wood of the Cross is the solitary standard of all reality.
The Paschal Mystery is rooted in the Incarnation, our Christmas celebration. After His birth our Savior’s mission is only complete through a most surprising, mysterious and even scandal ridden course of action, Calvary! The Wood of the Cross is the solitary standard of all reality. We begin our morning offering and conclude our evening examination of conscience by making The Sign of the Cross. Why? As Catholics we believe that the Cross of Christ is the very center of all time. Everything before The Cross is our preparation to receive redemption and to know soul to soul the person of God the Father. (Philip, if you know me, you know the Father). Everything after The Cross is the Father’s fulfillment, for “He has remembered His promise of mercy, the promise He made to our fathers” (Words of Our Lady). The pastoral prayer of Good Friday is this: The Soul finds its safety in the shadow of the cross. Get to the cross, embrace the cross, reverence the cross, “lift high the cross”. Saint John Paul, II says this in his letter on the Eucharist: “In celebrating mass, every priest is led back to that hour of Jesus’ passion. The Apostles Creed proclaims Christ’s death, burial, descent among the dead and rising. In her liturgy, the Church invites all to worship the wood of His cross that proclaims the Easter Event: The Lord is risen from the tomb”. (Par. 4, The Passion).
The Feast of The Exaltation of the Holy Cross is Monday, September 14th.
Further study for the College Student who is being pulled away from Christ: Images of Jesus, Anselm Grun, 2001, English 2002.
And something to sink your teeth into:

God bless you, one and all, Fr. Mike Gerlach.

Saints Simon and Jude School HAPPENINGS AND NEW NEWS!! This year’s “back-to-school” was one for the history books due to Covid-19. We welcomed back students to the school building and some joined their classes virtually from home. Those who came to school, wore masks and had their temperatures taken before entering. Each family has also been asked to take their child(ren)’s temperature at home each morning and to monitor symptoms. The school building also looks different this year. “Please stay 6 feet apart” stickers line the hallways and students are staying with their “cohorts” to minimize the number of people they come into contact with. The desks in each classroom are 6 feet apart; there are barriers on each desk; each teacher has a moveable shield; and there is plenty of hand sanitizer. The health and safety of all our students, teachers, staff, and entire SSJ community is our top priority this school year. I thank all of our school parents for your patience, understanding, flexibility, and cooperation during these unprecedented times.
Blessings, Sister Regina Elinich, IHM
Saints Simon and Jude School New Look of Learning!! Mrs. Farrell’s 4th grade class. There are three children on the laptop who are at

Thank you all for continuing to support Saints Simon and Jude Parish.
In this difficult time of “no contact” we have been blessed to have so many parishioners finding ways of continuing to support our Parish. One of the many ways of keeping everyone safe and continuing to support our Parish is using our electronic giving. This allows you to make donations either on an automatic scheduled basis, weekly or monthly, or one-time, without personal contact. You may make your donations either directly from your bank account or using a credit or debit card. Please visit our online giving page. From our Parish website home page go to “Ways to Give, then click Church E-give here”. Let us know if you have any questions on setting up your electronic giving by calling the Rectory office at 610-696-3624.
Stay well, be blessed and always, thank you for your support!
Saints Simon and Jude Volunteers We are gearing up for the Archdiocesan Safe Environment Audit!!!
Volunteers with incomplete SE files or expired clearances are continually notified with renewals and updates. Without full compliance your SE file will automatically become inactive, sadly, you will then be prohibited from volunteering at Saints Simon and Jude. During the last year many volunteers received their child abuse clearance directly to their home, please send a copy for your file. All completed and signed applications and certificates are sent directly to me Candy Savarese either via email or dropped off to the Rectory Office. I am here to help...Please let me know if you need information, applications or have questions. I can be reached at 610.696.3624 or csavarese@simonandjude.org.
Thank you all for helping SSJ be in compliance with PA State Laws and Archdiocesan Required Policies!!
