INFANT BAPTISMS The Sacrament is celebrated on Sunday at 1:15 PM. by appointment only. A Pre-Baptism Catechetical Session

is required for parents. Godparents (Sponsors) must be practicing Catholics and at least 14 years of age. A practicing non-Catholic Christian may act as a witness along with a Catholic Sponsor.

RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS We welcome all unbaptized individuals, friends, family members and neighbors who are not Roman

Catholic Christians or those individuals within the Catholic Tradition who may have never received the Sacraments of the Holy Eucharist or Confirmation to participate in our parish program for adult Christian Initiation at this time. This program is also ideal for baptized Christians of other Christian denominations who are interested in learning more about the Catholic Faith. If you know of someone who may wish to experience the richness of our Catholic Faith and who desires to participate fully in the sacramental life of the Church, please contact Barbara Bunag at 732-257-7722.

THE ARMED FORCES

Dear Brothers and Sisters, Last Sunday, I announced the start of our feasibility study for the renovation of our Church. This study will provide pertinent information about our com-munity and help us to formulate a plan for the reno-vation. I believe that this affords us an excellent op-portunity to renew our parish life. The six essential elements of a Christian community are: Liturgy Study Fellowship Hospitality Outreach Service These six hallmarks of our life together, as Chris-tians, have been with us since the beginnings of the Church. Those first communities gathered for litur-gy on Sunday, where they reflected on the Word of God and their vocation as Disciples of the Lord Je-sus. These are the real sources of Christian life; they are the means by which transformation takes place, how liturgy finds its way into life, how the Church encounters the world. May this truly be a time of renewal for our parish community. In Christ, Father Thomas

Dear Parents, Guardians, and Parishioners,

It was wonderful seeing everyone at Back-to-School Night. Our students have been engaged in wonderful learning activities and it is sure to be a successful school year.

It is with great sadness that I report that our former second grade teacher, Mrs. Geraldine McGivney, passed away. Mrs. McGivney was a beloved educa-tor and friend who brought joy to everyone who en-countered her. She will be greatly missed. Please keep Mrs. McGivney’s family in your prayers.

Our school will be represented at the East Brunswick Day on Sunday and we will also have a table at the Parish Fair on September 29 after the 8:00 and 10:00 am Masses.

Virtus training will be held on Wednesday, Septem-ber 25, beginning at 6:00 pm in the cafeteria. Regis-tration is required and is found on the Diocese of Metuchen website.

Please see the after school calendar and communica-tion envelope for information about our after school activities. Band, Chorus, and Drama flyers are in the communication envelope along with registration forms for other activities.

There will be an Enrollment Ceremony and Prayer Service for eight grade Confirmation candidates on Wednesday, September 25, 2019, beginning at 6:45 pm in the Church.

Our Magazine Drive turn-in day is Friday, September 27. Thank you, Mrs. Kolomyetz and Mrs. Watts, for chairing this event. Thank you for your support.

I wish you a blessed week.

God bless you, Mrs. Ann Wierzbicki, R.N., M.A.E./Ed.S. Principal
