Birth Rate

• The amount of individuals born into a population over a given period of time

Death Rate

• The amount of individuals in a population that die over a given period of time.

Carrying Capacity

• The maximum population of a species that have enough resources in an ecosystem

• Each student will write their name on the back of two 3”x5” cards.

• On the first card write “Death Rate” on one end the card and “Population” on the other.

• On the second Card write “Birth Rate” on one end of the card and “Population” on the other end.

• Examine what happens to the population if the birth rate and death rate change.
