Aplication:

The engine is one of the updated versions of AI-25TL production engine installed in L-39 and JL-8 trainers. It can be installed in combat-trainer versions of these aircraft, and is adapted for powering other existing trainers, combat-trainers, and those under development to be used as light attack aircraft. In this connection a combat power rating with enhanced maximum thrust for strike combat operations was introduced, and engine acceleration time was substantially reduced.

high reliability which ensures maximum operational safety proven by the fact that nearly 5 000 units of AI-25TL are operated in 37 countries of the world, their total operating time exceeds 6 000 000 hours; high gas-dynamic stability at external disturbances including those resulted from launching onboard weapons; high fuel efficiency; insignificant labour and time expenditures for maintenance; minimum life cycle cost.The automatic control system of previous design is implemented for retrofitting earlier produced L-39 and JL-8 aircraft. At the Customer's demand the engine can be modified to be automatically controlled by a FADEC-type system.
