Profit-driven approaches to implementing renewable energy are not working. Renewable energy must be considered a public good, developed and delivered as a public service for the benefit of all. This panel features trade union leaders from the global South and North who are working together in the initiave Trade Unions for Energy Democracy (TUED). They are committed to reclaiming and restructuring the energy system through its radical reform and by extending community and municipal-level control. The panelist will share the latest news from regional campaigns for energy democracy and discuss alternatives to market-driven approaches to financing the needed energy transition.
