“OPERATED BY FREEDOM AIR” – not quite true*
*Your CRS is now showing that NZ’s A320 fl eet is operated by Freedom Air.Technically speaking, this is true.
In reality, it’s the same NZ plane, the same NZ service and the same NZ experience for your customers buying an NZ ticket on an NZ designator code.
So your customers are still getting the full Air NZ experience.
PS. Existing SJ designator code remains as SJ service.

PCO threatens legal action A BRISBANE hotel is facing alawsuit after cancelling a confirmedallocation for a conference. The Carlton Crest Hotel provideda firm allocation of a block ofrooms for an event organised byprofessional conference organiserAST Management, but then advisedthe company that it was “unable tohonour the rate” originally offered. It turns out that one of the nightsof the conference coincides with thesecond rugby league State of Originmatch in Brisbane, with strongdemand meaning the hotel expectsit can sell the rooms at a higher rate. The booking was cancelleddespite the conference organiserhaving a written confirmation of theallocation from the hotel. To add insult to injury, hotelmanagement later confirmed it didhave the rooms available andoffered to honour the booking forthe room block, but at a rate morethan three times that originally
confirmed in writing. AST Management was leftwithout any accommodation for thegroup which had been fullyconfirmed with the client. The hotel was aware that it wasconfirmed with the client and evenalready had the rooming list, butstill refused to take the booking atthe rate originally confirmed. AST md Peter Sugg told TD theincident is a “disgraceful exampleof hotels chasing yield at theexpense of customer goodwill”. The hotel wasn’t able to commentbefore TD’s deadline today.

Entries close on 31 May, with thewinner to be announced 01 Jun. Craig’s entry is below; Many moons ago, whilst living inLondon, I joined in the New Year’sEve celebration at Trafalgar Square. All forms of transport ceasedprior to midnight, including cabs. Having been parted from otherfriends, Sandy & I headed off at1am, on foot, towards our flat inEarl’s Court. Sandy broke a heel on the way,so ended up walking barefoot onwhat appeared to be a relativelydirect route. An hour later, we found ourselveswandering some very dark & lonelystreets & very lost.
Another hour passed before wefinally spotted a human figure, under a lamppost. We approached and, feeling likecomplete idiots, asked fordirections to Earl’s Court. “Hello, how are you?”, was the response. “Fine thanks but lost” I replied. Then he said “You don’tremember me, do you? You’reCraig Contencin & went toHutchins School in Hobart”. Turned out that he had been 2years ahead of me at school. More amazing was that Rob wasactually with his sister Pippa whohad come across to London for avisit and she had been in my Year1-2 class, at primary school, & Ihad never seen her since! After reminiscing, receivingdirections & another hourtraipsing the back-blocks, wefinally reached our sanctuary, 3hours after we had set off! Looking at a map later, werealised that we had wanderedmiles off track. Next time, I will have my GPS!
