The day began with invoking the blessing of God by Sister Neera followed by the
Lighting of the Lamp. Thereafter, the activity was conducted by Ms Divya in a
creative way through which we came to know each other within a short time.
Group Discussion
The second session was conducted by Mr. Nicolas in which he divided the larger
group into four small groups. Beforehand Mr. Ruben one of the new staff
members of FVTRS was welcomed and introduced to all the participants. The
activities went such as
1. Naming the group: Group 1 Apple, Group 2 Teresa, Group 3 Go green and
Group 4 is 5 Stars

How to motivate the failure startups
Identifying the failure: We need to identify which area they are lacking.
Check the cycle of Entrepreneurship and then we have to motivate the
failure startups.

After the group formation and work division Ms. Divya explained about the three-
day scheduled. She also assigned a secret friend each of the participants.
Field experience Presentation:
Presentation was done by Sister Helen Rego organization Divya Kripa Seva Kendra
Malakalmuru.
After this Mr. Narayan conducted a small energizer to refresh the mind of all the
trainees. Soon after this there was a tea break.
Innovative Business Ideas by Mr. Jimmy
He helped the participants to understand the difference between Self-
employment and entrepreneurship and Entrepreneurship and Job. Then he
explained about the business Product and Service.
Skill first or Business first?
Ideally an entrepreneur identifies a market opportunity and acquires skills
and do Business
Where a market need is established, it is possible to impart skills along with
developing a job/business attitude.
Skill alone with no business attitude cannot create entrepreneurs.
How to Choose Trades for Skill Training

minimum of resources in a short period of time

Method 1:First selection of trades -Short list the proposed trades in the PRA
exercise Seek opinion of people

Difference between Job and Entrepreneurship
Profession – way of life
Entrepreneurship –Take risk and take the rewards- Rewards of risk is
called entrepreneurship
Risk means- Learning from somebody, getting inspired, being taught etc.
some of that skills. Entrepreneurship skills vary from person to person
Qualities of good entrepreneur
He explained that the Entrepreneur should have qualities such as Flexible, Ready
to Network, Curious, Respect for money, Ready to Experiment, Purpose of Market
Study, You cannot make sound business without uderstanding market,
Understand the customers need/want, Develop product/service which gives
customers what they want, Promote the best product /service for customers,
Keep on improving the product .
Benefits of Market Study
After explaining about qualities, he shared what could be the possible benefits of
Market study. Some of the points are as mentioned below:
Understand how well the product or service meets the needs of customers
Determine the best price for the product or service
Select the best way to distribute the product
Create new ways to promote the business
Identify ways to expand the business

How to do Market Study
His final and last session was about how to make a Market study:
Observation
Surveys (interview, social media etc)
Focus Group and product test
SWOT analysis
Inflow outflow
Secret Letter Writing and Sharing: During this session all the participants were
asked to write a letter to each of their Secret friends explaining about their
positive points and areas of improvements. Thereafter the time was given to
share each of the letters.
Feedbacks and evaluation:
Apple group members Rachel, Ajay, Sister Neera and Nicolas asked the members
to give their valuable feedbacks about the day. During the feedbacks the three C
were covered i.e. content, communication and Classroom management. Mostly
everybody was happy with the content and the style of communication however,
encouraged the participants to manage the time which was lacking on the first
day.
Overall the Day 1 was very fruitful and productive the participants could learn
through sharing and facilitation methodology.

Day – II
Prayer: The day began with Pray by Father Suresh who asked for God’s blessing
throughout the day and for the entire EDP Training sessions.
Thereafter, Mr. Nicolas took the time to welcome the remaining participants and
introducing to everyone in the room. Points were also given to Mr Helen for her
presentation on the previous day.
From Team Go Green who were given the task to prepare the report for the day
one Mr. Alex came forward and shared the importance that happened on first
day.
Thereafter the floor was open for the presentation of the participants to share
their field experiences about the EDP training they conducted in their area.
1st Presentation was made by Mr. Himanshu from Gram Vikas Seva Sanstha,
Lucknow. After this points were given to his presentation.
2nd Presentation was done by Sister Neera from Jeevandeep Charitable
Trust
Branch: Sarai Marufpur, Sandila. Points were given to her presentation.
Mr. Mehul began this session by asking the experience, challenges and positive
things the participants happened to face during their EDP Training program in
their respective field. Both positive and negative feedback were received like this
course is really bringing a transformation in the lives of the trainees however,
discussion were made regarding the module to be simplified if possible.
Thereafter he took the session on the Three column Chart as mentioned below:

Thereafter he took the examples of a Mobile shop and started elaboration each of
the points.
I. Finance
1. Costing: He explained as what are you going to sell and what is the total
cost of the product for an year.
2. Budgeting: How much expense we need to manage
Opportunity Cost: Eg. Shifting from one job to another as they get better
opportunity in which various examples were given like that of a private
drive shifting to Ola/Uber drive as the profit made is comparatively more.
3. Funding: Arranging of money to start an entrepreneurship. Being a
facilitator we not only should teach our training how to open a shop but
also help them initially to find monitory means to start their business. We
must guide them and if possible help them.
4. Account: To keep simple account of things everything that happens in the
shop. Like how much for particular service provide what is the actual
expense and what are our charges.
II. Management:
1. Operation: Operation is generally internal management of the store. How
many customers are coming for repairing how do we prioritize them,
management of time given for repair service etc.
2. Logistic: Management of outside resources E.g. in case if the person from
where we buy screen guard is not available making alternative availability.
3. HR. Making sure that the employee is working properly, salary paid, hours
of work to be competed etc.
4. Management and Resource: Keep ourselves update about happening in
the particular field in the nearby locality.
III. Product and Services:

What is the specialty or the Uniqueness of our project?
3. Tax and Law: Much explanation was not given as it is not necessary for our
small entrepreneurs only when the grow in their business we have to look
into these aspects.
Moreover, Different area, different product have different laws.
4. Customers: Everything done comes down to the point of Customer. We
need to understand the customers, what are the services/products they are
looking for, Their capacity and affordability.
After the Lunch break Mr Mehul explain about the social networking sight they
have opened especially for the trainers/facilitators in collaboration with
Facebook. The network is called Trainer Tribe and the app is called work place. It
exactly works like Facebook.
Ice Breaker:Ms Rachel once again taught us the song to whom to…. Which was
fun and refreshing for all the participants
Mr. Mehul went through the expectation written by each of the group and
selected the important topics which were not covered and gave his valuable
feedbacks. Some of the topics were like
How to manage the failure Startups: Whether the workers were salaried or
profit partners. He said if you remove risk from business it become like
employment. Hence, employee work and profit partner’s work is entirely
different.

Soon after this session and before the Tea break it was a time to thank Mr
Mehul for the valuable inputs he share with the participants.
‘Tell me and I forget, teach me and I remember, Involve me and I learn’
Ice Breaker: Before starting the session on how to become a good facilitator an
Ice breaker was conducted by Mr. Amal raj which was called Fruit Salad.
Exercise: Making of 3d Cube
All the participants took time to make a 3D cube with the ground rules that they
cannot talk once they touch the rope and cannot move their hands from the place
where they caught the rope. All the participants tried three times 15 min each but
failed miserably.
After this, Mr. Sajeesh encouraged all the participants to give their feedback
about the exercise which could help us understand what the difficulties was we
faced and what were the positive points we had.
1. What is facilitation?
Making our day to day conversations, activities, relationships, dealings
comprehensively pleasant, comfortable and easier for others.
2. Who is a facilitator?
A person who communicates effectively understanding to whom he/she is talking
or listening. Who influence the audience with a clear thinking, good participation
and a good buy-in from every one who is involved.
• Understands and facilitates the view of the other person
• Carefully assess what the audience need
• Work harder to stay neutral
• Makes the audience to understand why they are there

6. Significant Facilitation Behaviors
• Knowing the materials prior to your workshop
• Exuding confidence; be clear, enthusiastic and be comfortable.
• Using humor, stories, and examples that directly relate to their work.
• Selecting an appropriate activity that will meet the needs of your group and
having lots of fun energizers/icebreakers.
• Having lots of visually appealing handouts and flip charts: they help add the
practical material the participants leave your workshop with.
• Determining needed supplies, room requirements, seating arrangement.
• Thinking through the exercise and visualize potential problems and pitfalls:
one of the biggest is not allotting enough time for activities.
7. Things that a facilitator shouldn’t
• Impose a solution on the group. Focusing, they clarify issues
• Discussions, bring out viewpoints, synthesize differences, and Look for
underlying agreements.
• Downplay people’s ideas.
• Push personal agendas and opinions as the “right” answer.
• Dominate the group
• Say umm, ahaha repeatedly.
• Read from a manuscript or manual.
• Tell inappropriate or offensive stories.
• Make up an answer-you never know who is in the room.
• Allow people to bully others in the group.
• Take a stand with one section of the group (based on appearance)
The sessions were made interesting by showing various interesting videos like
Class of clown, Class of rowdies, How do you make a difference and finally ended
with a funny video on funny English class.

Thereafter, the floor was open for feedback and the all the participants gave very
positive feedback as they could learn a lot of things through the session and got a
clear picture about the difference between facilitator and a trainer.
Finally,Mr. Nicolas asked to write the secret letter by tomorrow morning and
bring it. All together the day was very meaningful as all the doubts regarding
Entrepreneurship was cleared by Mr.Mehul and the participants could learn on
how to become a good facilitator.
Day – III
Started with the feed back of the previous days’s programme. Since this is the
last phase and last day programme, the facilitators given the opportunity to clarify
the doubts from all three phases and all the topics covered.
Participants had lot of doubts about the Financial Management and Costing and
budgeting the same has been clarified by Ms. Divya and Mr. Nicholas.
Mr. Nicholas has asked each participant about their expectation has been met or
not? If their expectation ismet he asked to remove from the tree as a fruit. There
were some more unclarified chits were there on the expectation tree, he clarified
all the doubts and the participants were clear and happy about the training
programme
The participants were asked to prepare the annual plan.
Finally, Mr. Felix D’Souza – Senior Programme Manager, Mr. Nicholas and Ms.
Divya awarded the certificate to all the 19 Participants.
With the National Anthem the programme got concluded.
