The city of Denver is the capital of the US state of Colorado. The jumping off point for adventures in the
Rocky Mountains, there are also plenty of things to see and do here in the city itself. Here are just ten

Colorado State Capitol
This grand, golden-domed Capitol Building is the home of the Colorado General Assembly and offices of

Molly Brown House
This is the Victorian home (now a fascinating museum) of the Titanic heroine, the 'unsinkable Molly
Brown'. Though called 'Molly' after her death, her friends actually called Margaret Brown 'Maggie' during
her life. During the tragic sinking of the Titanic, she saved many lives.
This is a museum of science and natural history, one of the major sources for science education in the
Rocky Mountains area. It has a wide range of fascinating exhibitions on Colorado, the Earth and the
Universe.
Denver Botanical Gardens
This botanical gardens is located in the Cheesman Park area of Denver. It houses a wide range of plants
that are native to Colorado as well as a garden for children and some art exhibits.
Children's Museum of Denver
This children's museum has a whole raft of exciting exhibits and interactive displays that are sure to be a
big hit will all younger visitors. Kids can discover all sorts of interesting information here and can learn

Elitch's, as it is locally known, is a seasonal theme and water park with a range of rides and attractions for
the whole family to enjoy. There are several exciting rollercoaster rides as well as an arcade, shows and
special events.
This part of the Dakota Hogback in the Morrison Fossil Area National Natural Landmark is a fascinating
window looking back on the time when dinosaurs roamed the earth. This location, just to the west of
Denver, offers hiking trails through one of the most famous dinosaur fossil locations in the world.
Denver Zoo
This 80 acre zoo has a wide range of different animals to visit and offers plenty for animal lovers to see
and do. This historic zoo has been in existence since 1896 and has been enthralling visitors ever since.
