THROWING JOURNAL <DISCUSS #2>

Arm & Hand position• My release arm is pointing too

low.• My hand is spread out over the discus, but my thumb should be on top of discus not grabbing it.

• I threw my arm out in front with other hand to support discus.

Rotation

• I rotated 3 times practicing movements before throwing.

• My body weight shifted from back to front.

Release• After release, the same side leg didn’t

rotate and stayed still.

• My arm angle of release is about 10 degrees only, but it should be higher (45 degrees).

Improvements My body weight shifted from back to

front. My hand position got more exact. I rotated three times instead of two.

Goal setting When releasing, I will release my arm in

45 degrees. I will rotate my leg to get a powerful

throw.
