Thank you parents for coming to pick up your child’s

report card. Parents, we encourage you to take some time

and discuss with your child what he/she did well in the first

quarter and what area(s) he/she needs for improvement and

growth!

DECEMBER  

Language Arts  

Students will work on reading, writing and spelling  

multisyllabic words with V/CV and VC/V patterns.  

Students will explain determine the main idea of a  

text and recount the key details while explaining  

how they support the main idea.   

Students will explain the function of common and  

proper nouns and be able to find them in their  

reading and use them correctly in their writing.  

Students will capitalize important words in their  

writing and in titles.   

Students will use context clues to distinguish  

shades of meaning among related words- Synonym  

and Antonym study.  

Math  

Students will start to understand the concept of  

Multiplication by using different strategies . Then,  

students will learn about different properties and  

apply the skill to find the product. Please begin to  

practice your fact fluency. Students will have  

weekly timed tests!  

Science  

Students will participate in activities that relate to  

the winter season: snowflakes and hibernation.   

Social Science  

Students will
