New England Colonies

Colonial families began to settle.

They built houses and farmed the land.

 

Saltbox houses were built in New England Colonies.

Middle Colonies

Families brought livestock to help work the farms.

Horses provided transportation also.

Southern Colonies

 • Founded in 1663                    North Carolina

 • Founded in 1712                    South Carolina

 • Founded in 1733                    Georgia

Plantation houses were built in the southern colonies.

Southern colonists grew cotton on plantations.

They also grew tobacco on their plantations.
