Human activities have become mostly interactivefactor in the Sundarbans. Dry Fish Farming in DublarChar is the most dominative among all activities. Ithas a remarkable percentage of population amongtotal working population of the Sundarbans.Historically, fishing in the Sundarban has enjoyed theright to fish without being restricted by any law orobstacles. But the main source of fish in the industryis coastal sea. We surveyed in Dublar Char atMajherkella and Alorkol. Most of the workers of theMajherkella come from Chittagong as well as inAlorkol from Khulna, Shatkhira, Bagerhat. They allare seasonal migrants for five-six month to earnsatisfactory money.

Dublar Char issituated in the southernpart of Bangladesh by thecoast of Bay of Bangalwithin the Suadrban.

Geographical Location:

Our study areas wereMajherkella and Alorkol inDublar Char. The latitudeand longitude of DublarChar is 21° 46' N/ 89° 33' E. Our Study Area

To identify the present conditions of Dry FishFarming

To identify the causes for growing Dry FishFarming in the Dublar Char

To show the origin of the workers

To find out the socio-economic condition of theworkers

To identify their working duration

To make Suggestions how to improve dry fishindustry and how to attract the tourists.

Data collection method:

Simple questionnaire interview (open andclose ended question)
