HOW – WHEN – WHERE – WHY- or the R.O.I.
We are here to today to determine the various ways of doing this via
METHOD #1
METHOD #1A CHEK-WAY Dynamic WAY-Bridges®
• SANTOS – Galilee Gas Fields – solar powered system with autonomous operation.
• CAN BE IN-GROUND or ABOVE-GROUND
LINDSAY Transport – Melbourne #1A Dynamic WAY-Bridge®
• Unique design
• No loss of real estate
• +/- 0.1% Accuracy
• L.F.T. capabiity
Drive over them without causing any damage .
Oldest unit in service is Lindsay Transport’s unit in Brisbane – installed in 1982 – 34 YEARS old
METHOD #1B The CHEK-WAY® Eliminator On Board Scales or O.B.M. systems
TIME LINE – OBM ACCURACY
NRTC ~1996 initiates the IAP
> NRTC 2002/3 > NTC ~ 2004/5 forms TCA
TCA ~ 2006/7 appoints ARRB (NATA) to test all OBM systems in operation. ARRB report 2008 TCA May 2009 – Final Report OMB
from TCA
THE RESULT
TMR in 10/2010 appoints CHEK-WAY® as the only
OBM systems for the IAP/HML A-Double trials
ACCURACY - Box and Whisker chart.
• Figure 1. Indicative kg error findings for typical 20,000kg trailer group across the 12 OBM systems available and tested in Australia in 2008 (from Karl, Davis, Cai et al, 2009).
Accuracy - Explanation
Figure 2. Detail of each “box-and-whisker” entry from Figure 1. The range of all measurements for the OBM system being
measured is indicated by the length of the vertical line going through each box corresponding to that system’s measurements. The 75th and 25 percentile values are shown by the top and bottom of the box respectively. The average of all measurements is indicated by the
value at the centre of the red cross.
Results of the A.R.R.B. tests for T.C.A. The rigorous testing showed that the CHEK-WAY® OBM systems reported (at worst) readings that were in
error, on average, by 50kg in 20,000 kg over the 110+ readings taken across all the tests in the report.
The CHEK-WAY® OBM systems read on average 19,950 kg whenever 20,000kg was present on the test axle group.
Further, 50% of measurements in the 110+ test readings were (at worst) in error of 200kg for an axle group reading equivalent to 20,000kg.
The CHEK-WAY® OBM systems read an average of 19,800 kg when 20,000kg was present on the test axle group.
This translates to a 1% error reading or an effective “Legal for Trade” status for all
CHEK-WAY® OBM systems.

HOW – WHEN – WHERE - ROI HOW Method #1A, B, C.
WHEN As you drive over our WAY-Bridges® or, when you load each container on vehicles with CHEK-WAY® OBM
systems installed.
WHERE Anywhere and everywhere there is a WAY-Bridge® or a CHEK-WAY® equipped vehicle.
R.O.I. How to recover costs, make a profit and have a VGM with I.D.’s
attached = Phone-WAY®
PHONE-Way® screen of UNLOADED A-DOUBLE
First 20’ empty container loaded
Second 20’ empty container loaded
Third container is an empty 40’
Two 40’ loaded containers & prime mover overloaded
NOW – THE R.O.I. – THE GOOD BIT
Our WAY-Bridge® costs ~$60,000.00
If you charge $40.00 to supply the VGM for 1,500 containers your return is $60,000.00. You recover your costs in 12 months – not a bad investment? YES.
The next year and every year thereafter you ADD $60,000.00 G.P. to your bottom line.
NOW the GOOD BIT on our O.B.M. An A-Double costs $20,000.00 fully installed
Using the same $40.00 fee you recover the total outlay in 4 months. An even better R.O.I. You ADD $40,000.00 to your G.P. in year #1, then $60,000.00 every year thereafter AND, you weigh wherever you go.
The question for all of you is:
If you own your own vehicles or, use sub-contractors then WHY aren’t
all of these vehicles equipped with CHEK-WAY® SCALES?
Thank-you for your valuable time.
•One WEIGH, •Or the other, • It has to be, •CHEK-WAY® .
