• Time came for the baby• No room to have the baby, so off to the

adjacent animal stable• Not like our stables today

• Gave birth to the baby• Swaddled in cloth and placed in a Manger

• Humble beginnings• But he was our Lord and Savior

Shepherds

• Sheep are still not smart• Can’t be left alone• Shepherds watch over them• Life-Changing event• Angel appears• Glory of the Lord shone – bright!

• Angels are terrifying• “Don’t be afraid”

I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.

The Name

• Time to circumcise the child• “He was named Jesus”• v.21 – the conclusion with the name• Luke 1:31

You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus.
