through my work; I want to achieve immortality through not dying. I don’t want to live on in the hearts of my countrymen; I want to live on in my apartment.”

1 Corinthians 15:50-52“I tell you this, brothers: flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. Behold! I tell you a mystery. 1 Corinthians 15:55-58“‘victory? O death, where is your sting?’ The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. For this we declare to you by a word from the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those …”

1 thessalonians 4:15-18“who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. Therefore encourage one another with these words.” (ESV)

Philippians 1:21-24“For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. If I am to live in the flesh, that means fruitful labor for me. Yet which I shall choose I cannot tell. I am hard pressed between the two. My desire is to depart and be with Christ, for that is far better. But to remain in the flesh is more necessary on your account.” (ESV)

Revelation 6:9-10“I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the witness they had borne. They cried out with a loud voice, ‘O Sovereign Lord, holy and true, how long before you will judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?’” (ESV)
