LennKruge---8L7-R>lson !~v~_nge.--..-Q~bgqy:e~ The 3 NRC DY spzcials on Jan. 29th a l l aa re well received at t h i s DX den. I was es- pecially happy to log WSKI i n rontpelier, V t . a i t h i t s DX, thanks to WEDC f o r stand- ing by so the 1240 spot was clear , and thanks also to Ken N;uqhy f o r a r r u g i n g t h i s f i n e DX. Tha WAii DX was also a new adi i t ion to ilpr log, and one I've been a f t e r f o r quite some time. Then the scheduled BGAI DX came on a t 5 AM f o r a $-hour, but didn't hear t'le voice of our member, Relfe Luton, whom I thought would s q a few words. A l - so on 1/29 added FAYS (610) Charlotte, NC on i ts regular sked 6:OO-6120 AM, ber.eath powerful WIP. On Jan. 30, a local newscast carried the neu-s that the transmitter of Stat ion KS!$N, lvIason City, Iowa was burned Sown coapletely early that morning, and th i s being a "local" here, I had a hunch I mlght be able to hear the new c a l l s of Stevens Point W i s . s t a t ion on 1010 kc/s., nmely WSPT. My hunch was r ight , and I logged VSPT with i t s l a s t %-hour on the a i r that dag. KSMX was oiaf the air f o r 3 days, a f t e r being burned out. On Feb. 1, logged XZJI (1150) Klamath Fal ls , Ore. on the i r regular sked 2:45-3:00 AM, topping everything on tha t frequency. Also on 211 f ina l ly got a nice report off to XCRA (1320) Sacramento, C a l . who was on an all& "Radio Auctionn sala. Yes, I t n happy to report that the l'rare" WCW, Chicago, was on the a i r a s scheduled with i ts & J C DX pr0gr.m 4-6 AM on Feb. 5th, with an enjoyable show. I t ' s only 180 miles from t h i s location, but rwvertheless i t nicest additions t o my DX log t h i s season. I 've been years. The XMCD-DX on 4 5 was also recaived well at t Uvalde, Tex. was heard with i t s 1 s t hionday f / c 5-5:15 ions receiv- ed here were l e t t e r s fro& WOK X R I Z X3.E KHON IPIN-DX lalVAM-DX PISKI-DX, and a card frog PIV:WF on i t s DX.

As f o r new stat ions, WNEL heard a t 5 : JW s/on along a i t h KON0, all-nighter. 3YA ard 3YC heard from 4:15 to 5:20 AM only 1 night, the 26th of January. I would certainly appreciate some infomiation on the following: 1/31, 317-6:34 &&'I, I heard a Spanish s ta t ion on 730 kc/s. They used chimes f o r an in te rvz l s i e e l at 6:31 AM an3 possibly a few notes on a piano along with the chimes. Also, I notice that several s ta t ions have bedn reported on 880 kc/s. The Sganish sta- t ion tha$ I heard from 5:49 to 5:08 AM on 213 used chimes not only at 6 AM but during announcing from 6 to 6:05, wnich sounded to me l i k e a news report.
