Dear Friend,

The story you have in your hand is not entirely true. You will have

to figure out for yourself what is real and what is not. Suffice it to

say, the only way I could get this published was to list it as fiction.

However, it is not entirely make believe either.

You will find very few people who believe in talking animals. You will find very few people who believe in talking animals.

Even fewer who believe in the mystical Island of Harapan.

Despite my efforts, I can not prove that the island exists.

Nonetheless, I believe that Harapan is real, and anyone can find it, Nonetheless, I believe that Harapan is real, and anyone can find it,

if they have the heart for it. But I fear it is the way of the world to

choose what is seen over what is unseen. I’ve done a fair share of

that myself. Maybe that’s part of the reason I’m writing this tale.

To help me remember what’s real. And maybe, just maybe, it will

help somebody else, too.

That said, I hope you enjoy The Legend of Harapan.

Legend has it there is a man named Kayden living on the island I included this sketch of what KAyden probably looks like. If he seems scary to you, don’t woryy. He’s not. At least, not from what I’ve heard. I’ll tell you more about him later.
