THE LAST SUPPER
Painted in1498 by Leonardo Da Vinci in Dominican convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie, in Milan.
Leonardo used colors directly on the dry plaster wall instead of wet one. So, it has been discolored.
This is the moment when Jesus says "Truly, truly, I say to you, one of you will betray me". The picture shows the
reaction of the disciples to this.
Bartholomew, James Minor and Andrew form a group of three. All are horrified. Andrew holds his hands up in a
"let's calm down " gesture.
Judas, Peter and John form the next group of three. Judas holds a money bag. Peter holds a knife and asks John "Who
does he say it is?". John tries to hear what he says.
Thomas, James the Elder and Philip are next. Thomas points upward. James the Elder looks stunned.
Philip seems to be asking 'Is it me?'.
In this painting, we cannot notice the affirmation of the value, LOYALTY, but
how men don't respect it.
“Lack of loyalty is one of the major causes of failure in every walk of life.”
_Napoleon Hill
Loyalty needs responsibility, perseverance, service and respect for others.
