Festival- An annual festival in August held in

Périgueux, gives the opportunity to see outdoor and indoor performances involving mime shows, puppet shows and acrobatics.

Scallop Festival- Taking place on the 28 of August and held in

the town centre, Villers sur mer's Scallop Festival celebrates the delicate coral and white shellfish with a huge market, wine tasting, live music and folkloric dances. The event draws crowds of 30,000.

Andros Trophy- The Andros Trophy (Trophée Andros) is the

French national Ice Racing championship. Meanwhile, the Andros Trophy Electric category, first launched in 2010, caters for 100% electric-powered vehicles providing an eco-friendly aspect to the championship.

The Bocuse d'Or- Is a World Cooking Contest, is a biennial

world chef championship. Named for the chef Paul Bocuse, the event takes place in Lyon, France at the SIRHA International Hotel, Catering and Food Trade Exhibition, and is one of the world's most prestigious cooking competitions.

Lille comics festival- Since 2006 the Lille Comics Festival is the

main British and American comic books convention in the north of France, held in November. It is also a gathering of the community of fans, back-issues dealers and notable comics creators.

Les Nuits Electroniques de L'Ososphere- Is a music and electronic art festival held in

Strasbourg during the last weekend of September. It includes 6 stage areas and dance floors featuring over 60 concerts and DJ sets and a double interior space dedicated to digital arts, including visual arts and arts network.

founded in 1946, it is the most prestigious film festival in the world. The private festival is held annually (usually in May) at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès, in the resort town of Cannes, in the south of France.

Paris Marathon- Is an annual marathon which takes place from

the Champs-Élysées heading towards the Place de la Concorde and continuing through the city to finish at Foch Avenue.

Along with the Berlin Marathon and the London Marathon, it is one of the most popular long-distance annual running events in Europe.
