•Condensation is when water changes from a gas to a solid or a liquid.

• Precipitation is the process when water falls from the clouds to the earth. Examples of precipitation are rain, sleet, hail, and snow.

Uses of Water

• Drinking

• Power

• Irrigation

• Transportation

• Recreation (swimming, boating)

Interesting Facts

• Water boils at 212° Fahrenheit• Water freezes at 32° Fahrenheit• 75% of the earth is covered by water• 97% of the earth’s water is ocean• It takes 2 gallons of water to brush your

teeth.• It takes 2 to 7 gallons of water to flush a

toilet.• It takes 25 to 50 gallons of water to take a

shower.

Reflection

It is important that we conserve and protect our water resources because only 3% of the earth’s water is not ocean water. If our water is polluted we will not have safe water to drink. We can conserve water by washing our cars less frequently and turning off the faucet when we are brushing our teeth.
