On 27th September 2014 the Bolton ICD Support Group hosted their first Heart of Bolton Ball at The Macron Stadium (previously Reebok Stadium) in aid of raising money for their #defibs4bolton campaign. In less than 2 years they have raised enough money to purchase and donate 32 defibrillators. We had 180 guests who enjoyed a drinks reception in the Piazza Suite whilst listening to Dharma Sings and having their photograph taken by Dan from Eden Photography. Master of Ceremonies Peter Aust welcomed everyone into the Platinum Suite where they entered a beautifully decorated room by Natalie at Planned with Passion. Guests enjoyed a 3 course meal by Heathcote & Co. whilst listening to The Secrets playing live on stage. After the main meal everyone was entered into a table draw where one person from each table won the centre piece which was a giant present which contain a gift voucher donated by a local business or company. Everyone in the room was then entered into the star prize draw where one lucky win won a Automated External Defibrillator to a place of their choice. The MC then introduced the chair of the charity Tracey Garde where she did a very personal and heartfelt speech. Then it was time for the special guest speaker to make an appearance Dr Kevin Jones who was due to fly off the following day to enjoy his retirement in NZ. Dr Jones was amazing and had the room in fits of laughter. The event then moved on to the auction where there was some amazing one off prizes followed by the raffle where there was endless amounts of donated prizes. We then welcomed The Secrets back to the stage where they gave an amazing 45 minute set and had people up dancing. DJ Rob Legg then continued the party with some fantastic classic tunes before being interrupted by a flash mob set up by the community first responder from NWAS. Staying Alive blasted out of the speaker whilst people dropped to the floor and started doing CPR to the beat of the music. The party then continued on into the early hours. The whole event raised £12,350 which will purchase 19 defibrillators which will be donated to schools and sports clubs in Bolton. #DEFIBS4BOLTONIN 2012 WE DECIDED TO SET UP OUR #DEFIBS4BOLTON CAMPAIGN

TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN OUR COMMUNITY.

WE RAISE FUNDS TO PURCHASE AUTOMATED EXTERNAL DEFIBRILLATORS

(AED’S) FOR LOCAL SCHOOLS, SPORTS CLUBS AND COMMUNITY GROUPS

TO IMPROVE SURVIVAL RATES IN PATIENTS WHO SUFFER CARDIAC ARREST.

WE ALSO RAISE AWARENESS OF CPR, RECOGNISING CARDIAC ARREST

AND TEACH PEOPLE HOW TO HELP.
