Bunting® Magnetics Co. offers Eddy Current Separators (ECS) for the Municipal, Plastics, E-Scrap and Metals Recycling Industries. Bunting® ECS’s clean low profile streamlined design has used magnetic finite element design software to optimize the gauss flux density in the working area above the belt to optimize the eddy current forces, separation efficiency and product throw.
The Bunting® ECS core is designed to provide the gauss intensity to optimize separation on a wide range of nonferrous materials and part sizes. It is protected with the tough urethane belt and the carbon fiber epoxy shell. From aluminum cans to kitchen pots and pans, this unit does an excellent job of throw and separation. The eccentric core is designed to be rotated to further optimize the product throw.
Bunting® ECS units are available in 24”, 36”, 48” and 60” widths and 96” long. The 24” wide may be common in the Glass Recycling industry and the other 3 sizes in Municipal, Plastic, E-Scrap and Metal Recycling Industries depending on the capacity requirement.

One of the key design features of the Bunting Magnetics Co. Eddy Current Separator is how maintenance friendly it is. The drop down side panel can easily be be lowered by one person for quick and easy belt change. Only one tool is required to loosen the belt, drop the side panel, replace the belt, retrack the belt and be back running production.
The rubber lagged inverter duty motorized drive pulley at the infeed provides for exceptional driving force, variable speed drive and a clean out of the way design. Easy to work on when needed and it provides a variable 100 to 300 fpm belt speed to optimize your separation. The ECS drive come complete with two VFDs to program ramp up starting.
The ECS unit has the highest quality urethane endless belt with 1 ½” urethane flexwall and 3 sweeper cleats to help kick off ferrous contamination. In addition to the flexwall the Bunting ECS has a secondary brush seal outside the flexwall as a double seal protection from material getting inside the conveyor frame.

The “Conveyor of Choice” for continuous over-conveyor separation for the Recycling Industry to magnetically separate out ferrous materials from non-ferrous materials and protect Shredder and Grinder Equipment.

Our horizontal Drag-Slide Conveyors work well for conveying material from one point to another in long horizontal runs. They are great transfer conveyors for a system which is moving free flowing materials and will keep your floor and shop area clean and neat.

Heavy-Duty GFC Conveyors Designed for those rugged applications that handle between 8,000 and 20,000 pounds of product per hour, including whole bales, heavy purgings or bulk municipal recycling. They are usually constructed of 12” to 15” channel iron frames, 4-ply belts with beefy cleats, UHMW skirting, 10” to 12” pulleys and large drives with large D-coils before the Shredder.

Magnetic Drums and Drum Separators are self-cleaning and provide continuous removal of ferrous contaminants from a wide range of free-flowing bulk and granular materials in high-volume applications.
When material flows onto the drum, a stationary magnetic assembly inside the unit’s shell captures tramp metal and holds it securely to the drum’s stainless steel surface. With contaminants removed, the good product falls freely to a discharge point. As the drum rotates, cleats sweep the ferrous debris through and out of the magnetic field. The tramp metal is discharged separately, creating continuous self-cleaning separation.

Bunting® has an extensive line of Magnetic Separation Head Pulleys for conveyors in the Recycling Industry. These pulleys offer superior removal of ferrous contamination like nails, spikes, nuts, bolts, cans, and wire for conveyors in the paper, wood, plastic, steel and municipal recycling industries with maintenance free operation.
Magnetic Separation Head Pulleys are a way of continuously removing and discharging tramp metal from the product flow for both product purification and materials separation. If you are designing and building your own conveyors, Bunting® offers economical OEM Magnetic Ceramic Separation Pulleys or the optional high intensity Neo Rare Earth Pulleys for those critical separation jobs
Magnetic Separation Pulleys are designed and manufactured for maximum reach-out, holding force and separation effectiveness. They are manufactured in both the economical Ceramic and the high intensity Neo Rare Earth for maximum separation. Magnetic Pulleys are even more effective when used in combination with overhead Magnetic Cross-Belt Conveyors on thicker burdens or more dense conveyed materials.
Installation: Bunting® Magnetic Separation Pulleys can be installed in the two basic configurations as shown. The first (1) is using the Magnetic Pulley alone which works fine in most installations. The second (2) is used in conjunction with a Magnetic Take-off Rail which helps convey the ferrous tramp back from the end of the conveyor and farther away from the clean product stream. This works especially well on the smaller pulley diameters but is very effective on all sizes.

BELTLESS MAG-SLIDE® CONVEYORS FOR TIRE WIRE, NAIL & STAPLES
Bunting® Magnetics Co. Rare Earth High Intensity Magnetic Separation Pulleys are designed for those difficult separation jobs in the Recycling process. This can be those paramagnetic fines or stainless steel scrap and fastners that have been work hardened and can only be separated with High Intensity Neo Separation Pulleys.
Deep Reach Rare Earth Field Pulleys are for the high volume recycling lines to make sure you get all
the ferrous metals out of the stream before the Eddy Current Separators. These units can be incorporated on the Bunting Grinder Feeder and Transfer Conveyors with reachouts of 10”-12” and more and with field intensity that’s unmatched.
Low Reachout High Intensity Rare Earth Field Pulleys are designed for 10,000 to 12,000 gauss super high intensity fields but with low reachout – low volume applications. These applications usually have a single layer stream of material on very thin belts for maximum separation. These units can be incorporated on Bunting stainless steel transfer/separation conveyors.
Bunting® Beltless MagSlide® Magnetic Chip Conveyors are built to handle the tough jobs of the Tire, Wood and Metal Recycling Industry. Those tough tire wires that tear up belts are no problem for the beltless MagSlide Conveyors. Dirty, oily parts, jagged, abrasive scrap, and other punishing materials that could damage or jam conventional belted or steel hinged conveyors are no challenge for Bunting’s ruggedly constructed MagSlide®

Bunting® Duplex Units mate magnetic and electronic separators to remove both ferrous and nonferrous contaminants efficiently from free-flowing virgin resins, regrind, and recycled plastics. They are an excellent choice wherever the volume and variety of metal debris might overload a single separator. The sturdy steel framework provides easy component access and includes a receiving hopper.
Duplex Separators typically combine a Bunting® Low-Profile Drawer Magnet with an electronic HS Metal Detector, but other magnetic separator and detector combinations can be selected to match the demands of specific applications.
