Chicago, Borghesi holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of
Wisconsin-Madison and a master’s degree in business administration
from Northwestern Kellogg Graduate School of Business.
Borghesi has been active with a number of philanthropic initiatives and
organizations primarily with the University of Wisconsin where she

South Carolina at the organization’s annual meeting in April. She will
serve for a three-year term.

with the new Board Chair, “The Face of GSESC has changed this past
month and so have many board and board development members. The

The South Carolina Girl Scout Honorary Legislative Page
Program is an opportunity for Girl Scouts in high school to
investigate how our government works. Girls who participate
in the South Carolina Honorary Legislative Page Program
spend three days working as a Page at the Statehouse in
Columbia, SC. This working experience is supplemented
with Leadership Journey activities, training on legislative
protocol and procedure, and networking with Girl Scouts
throughout South Carolina.

The Women's Caucus Breakfast
in Columbia, SC. This is a jointly
hosted event by Girl Scouts of
Mountains to Midlands and Girl
Scouts of Eastern SC every
year during Girl Scout week in
March.
The councils provide an over-
view of the previous year to the
attendees of the SC General
Assembly Women's Caucus and
have a chance to talk with them
about issues and legislation
affecting girls in SC. It also gives
both councils a chance to meet
and greet with male and female
representatives from all over the
state.
The members belong to
honorary GS Troop 912.

Let’s fast forward to a fast finish and leave the paper piles, stacks, backlogs and frustrations behind.

The new VTK (Volunteer Tool Kit) is part of the new overall
volunteer systems that we are moving to as a council along
with many other councils. The web based system will reduce
wait times on responses from council staff. Being able to
search out a troop and join online and will reduce wait times
for girls and parents. A central streamlined process will have
troop leaders, parents, staff and others all on the same
system and page, speaking the same language at the same
time. This will connect the dots in a way we have not been
able to do before.
Leaders will be able to plan their whole year easily, online.
It’s an exciting time with this technology!

As with all new systems
or platforms, there may
be a learning curve, but
with Volunteer Systems
we will be moving not
only at the speed of the
girl but at the speed of
light by comparison.
