which is given to a person who served in the U.S forces. Abraham Lincoln signed a bill which created the
Congressional Medal Of Honor in 1862

opposing foreign force While serving with friendly forces engaged in armed conflict
against an opposing force in which the U.S is not a belligerent party
Robert Temple Emmet 2nd Lt. in the U.S Army Indian War Campaigns Las Animes canyon, New Mexico September 18, 1879 he and his 5 men were surrounded by
Indians and Emmet held his position and fought back until his men reached safety
John W. Heard 1st Lt. in the U.S Army War with Spain Mouth of Manimani River July 23rd 1898 After 2 of his men had been shot down by
Spaniards, he remained at his position until the ship he was on was out of danger
George Dilboy Private 1st Class in WWI Near Belleau, France July 18th 1918 he was shot by an enemy machine gunner, but
still managed to shoot down the gunner along with 2 other enemies while his men got to safety
