INKLUSI Wanita yang non-obese (BMI 10 tahun) dapat membawa keadaan adaptative. Konsep adaptasi ini tidak konsisten dengan pengamatan peneliti sebelumnya di pasien DTC dengan proporsi resistensi insulin (HOMA-IR > 2.5) saat diagnosis dan beberapa tahun (>5) kemudian juga serupaPenjelasan alternatif dari kedua temuan negatif ini dalam sekelompok DTC dengan pengobatan berbeda dan juga dalam penelitian ini, adalah bahwa beberapa pasien kanker tiroid mungkin resisten insulin dan bukan hanya sebagai konsekuensi dari pengobatan L-T4.Untuk mendukung ide ini, peneliti menemukan bahwa setelah meng-eksklusikan pasien DTC, hubungan antara T3 dan HOMA-IR menjadi lebih kuat. Beberapa jalur penelitian telah membuktikan bahwa resistensi insulin berhubungan dengan kanker dan bahwa konsep ini juga berlaku dalam DTC.Peneliti juga menemukan bahwa kelompok SCTox endogen lebih resisten insulin jika dibandingkan dengan kelompok eutiroid.Maratou et al. melaporkan bahwa sensitivitas metabolisme glukosa pada pasien tirotoksikosis subklinis endogen terhadap insulin in vivo dan in vitro lebih rendah daripada kelompok kontrol.Kesimpulan

Resistensi insulin terdapat pada seluruh pasien tirotoksikosis subklinis.

Pasien tirotoksikosis subklinis endogen memiliki jaringan tubuh yang lebih tirotoksik dibandingkan SCTox tipe lainnya.Resistensi insulin terdapat pada seluruh pasien tirotoksikosis subklinis, baik pada pasien dengan pengobatan LT4 di goiter nodular dan DTC, atau tirotoksikosis subklinis iatrogenik18
