The Animal World!!!CREATED BY STEPHANIE KEMPLE

Wild animals

Wildlife traditionally refers to undomesticated animal species, but has come to include all plants, fungi, and other organisms that grow or live wild in an area without being introduced by humans.

Wildlife can be found in all ecosystems. Deserts, forests, rain forests, plains, grasslands, and other areas including the most developed urban sites, all have distinct forms of wildlife. While the term in popular culture usually refers to animals that are untouched by human factors, most scientists agree that much wildlife is affected by human activities.

Interesting facts

Elephants can smell water up to 3 miles away. They are also one of the three mammals that undergo menopause – the other two being humpback whales and human females.

Koala bears almost exclusively eat only eucalyptus leaves and nothing else.

Home animals

Currently the exact number of foreclosure pets is unknown. People often drop animals off at a shelter and claim they are moving, when in fact they are leaving due to foreclosure. However, it is thought the numbers are climbing due to high foreclosure rates. As homeowners run out of time and options, they often leave their animals behind. The animals are then classified as abandoned foreclosure pets.

The pets left behind in homes are often left without food or water. Some do not survive because of the lack of resources and are found dead when realtors or banks enter the premises. The animals are put in harm's way, and it is often believed it is done as a way to retaliate against those who took the home away.

Pets are not able to survive in the wild without resources, which means they are at a disadvantage whenever they are left without humans to watch over them. Many are left to starve or become dehydrated.

Cat

A cat has 32 muscles in each ear. All the better for them to eavesdrop on your conversations and plot your demise.

Dogs

It is a myth that dogs are color blind. They can actually see in color, just not as vividly as humans. It is akin to our vision at dusk.

Hamsters

Have you ever wondered why hamsters like to chew things so much? It’s because their front teeth (their incisors) never stop growing! If your hamster didn’t chew on things then its teeth would grow so long that it would struggle to open its mouth to eat properly.

Who has 32 muscles in their ears?

Cat? Dog? Hamster?No! No!

Who can roar like a lion?(Expect a lion?)

Koala? Kangaroo? Ostrich?No!No
