- About the Author Ashley Smith is a first grade teacher at Donna
Lee Loflin Elementary. She has been teaching for 11 years. She
attended Southern Wesleyan University and is currently studying for
her Masters in Literacy at High Point University. She lives in
Asheboro, North Carolina with her husband and six year old
