Charles Frederick Worth was an English fashion designer, whose works were produced in Paris and who is widely considered the Father of Haute couture. He was the first designer to have his label sewn into the garments that he created. He worked at several prosperous London drapery shops before moving to Paris . He was hired by Gagelin and Opigez, well-known Parisian drapers.

• You will usually need a relevant degree to do this job. A course that teaches both design and technical skills w ill give you the knowledge you need to work in the industry.
