Purpose

d) All types of requirements can be captured here and the category/type of the requirement can be chosen accordingly. Values

1) Functional - Requirements that state the action to be accomplished

2) Non Functional - Requirements that can be used to judge the operation of a system

3) Derived - Requirements that are broken up from a high level requirement

4) Others - Any other requirements that does not fall into the above categories

e) During the requirements analysis phase if clarifications exist in any of these requirements then select “Yes” in the “Clarifications

Exist” column against the requirement and enter the clarification description in the “Clarification” column. If "No" is selected then

“Requirement Clarification” column and “Clarification Raised By” column will be set to “ NA” .

Description

The purpose of the Test Requirements Tracker is to capture the testing specific requirements from the requirements document

that is received from the Client/development team.

This tracker is applicable to applications delivery managed work regardless of the project size and type. The checklist will be used

by MphasiS Testing Teams during the requirements gathering phase. The business excellence team project facilitator or the

process manager can be contacted for any clarifications in this document.

a) Enter the project details in the Overview Sheet.

b) Capture the requirements in the "Requirements_Tracker" sheet under the "Requirements" column. Please try avoiding

DRAGGING or COPY PASTING Information in this sheet. Data should be keyed in.

c) Enter the date of receipt of requirements in the “Requirement Received Date” column.

3) Consider the requirement “View of this screen should fit within a page (no horizontal scroll) in common browsers” and if it

has been designed to fit right in at least in IE 7.0 and Mozilla then the constraint on this requirement is that it should be tested

in IE 8.0 and Mozilla . Requirement in this case can be classified under “Assumptions and Constraints have not been

addressed”.

f) Associated requirements their ID’s can be selected from the “Associated Req ID” column.

g) “Requirement Checklist” column will have the list of questions that will help in deciding if the requirement is complete and

understood. If any of the gaps/ conditions given in the checklist satisfies the requirement then select the gaps/conditions

accordingly. Some examples based on the field values of this column and their selection is as follows.

1) "Requirements not feasible for testing". Examples of requirements that fall under these categories could include owner

2) When requirement is under TBD status, has some missing information or more details on a requirement are yet to be

provided they may be classified under “Requirement in TBD Status”.

i) Click the Update Requirements tracker to bring the risks under clarification to the “Req_Clarification_Tracker” sheet.
