Just as one good turn does, so does one bright pop of colour deserve another. But while a bold hue on both lips and eyes can be too much of a makeup fun-fair, makeup artist David Cranson worked with us to create a more

workable alternative: contrast brights on both lips and nails. The eyes here are left understated – almost bare –making the glossy bright lips the focus of the face. As David points out, the bright colour also makes your smile

look fresher and brighter. A on trend beauty look for 2012 that’s simple to create, follow the how-to guide on creating this look for

yourself after the break.

To prep and prime: moisturise the face well (David used Aesop’s oil free moisturizer). Pluck any strays from the eyebrows & brush into place.

Conceal with a lighter shade than your foundation using a synthetic brush & blend well (David used Martin Bray pro range concealerpalette).

Lightly powder to set using a HD powder. Apply blush to the apples of the cheeks for a rosy glow.

Apply lashings of clear mascara to the eyelashes to give them volume but keep them fresh.

Pick a bright lipstick colourand paint the lips with a lip brush. David used a bold fuchsia pink on Sarah and a bright coral on Amy.

Paint the fingernails with a contrasting colour to bring together this look
