Municipal Solid Waste Management Action Plan has been approved covering key measures:
Gradual implementation of municipal waste separation system
Promotion of municipal waste recycling system
Improvement of waste collection efficiency and cost -effectiveness
Rehabilitation of existing landfill systems and closure of existing cells
Tbilisi Municipal Solid Waste Strategy will be drafted by financial support from EBRD and executed by two companies German ICP and Greek Enviroplan.
The Strategy will assess the needed infrastructure for the implementation of waste prevention, separation at source, collection and recycling and medium to long-term investment plan
