What is the “Shouf Biosphere Reserve”? 

The Shouf Biosphere Reserve, has been declared part of MAB Program (Man and the Biosphere) by UNESCO since 2005. 

It includes the Shouf Cedar Reserve (the largest in Lebanon) and the Ammiq wetland (designated Ramsar site)

Tawlet Ammiq is a project that promotessustainable development in Ammiq villageand the West Bekaa region; it featuresregional food and products, home cookeddishes prepared by local cooks. Located inLebanon’s most fertile region, the aim of thisdevelopment project is to protect the naturaland cultural heritage, to celebrate foodand traditions that unite communities, tosupport small-scale farmers andproducers and to promote sustainableagriculture.

Souk el Tayeb operates TawletAmmiq, celebrating local, natural and

cultural heritage and culinary traditions of Ammiq and the region
