Visiting Artist
Aaron Cain, one of the top tattoo artists of today is this month’s visiting artist. Known for his extensive work in the bio-mechanical field, and also the “yellow ribbony stuff” as he calls it.
Cain is also known for building his own tattoo tools and guns. Starting from a young age he was always fascinated with taking stuff apart and putting it back together. His tools are unique and look more like show pieces for a showcase then to actually be used in a studio.
Not only will Cain be available for meet and greets to the public during his month stint at TATAU, but he will also be taking part in a “live exhibit” where you can get a tattoo from the man himself as onlookers watch a master at work.

Born in Pacific Grove, CA in 1971. He was an only child with a single mother, so he had plenty of time on his own. As long as he can remember, he had many people telling him he would grow up to be an artist. From the time of his first crayon drawing until the time he began tattooing, he always believed them.
He started tattooing “professionally” in 1989, with a couple years of experimental scratching before. He has always been drawn to sci-ence fiction, as well as dark, morbid imagery, so when he first saw the work of H.R. Giger, the direction his artwork took was forever changed. Although the influence of Giger is most aparent in his work, but Alphonse Mucha’s work has been equally influential. Mucha’s graceful, sweeping shapes, the mix of both bold graphic elements and soft, realistic rendering, the use of contrast, negative space and dynamic color composition are all qualities that I try to convey in my own work.
Because of this drive and imspiration Cain has been called one of the best tattoo artists today. His mastery of the bio-mechanical has drawn many people to get inked. by his hands.
Top Tattoo Artist of Today
Not only does Cain tattoo but he also builds his own tattoo tools, which he is also getting a lot of respect and recognition for. In fact, actual tattooing has taken a back seat to his tool building fascination. Which is why we are happy to announce Cain’s visit to TATAU. Cain will be tattooing in the TATAU studio for a whole month as a part of a live exhibit feature.
Cain will also be building a select few guns to be aunctioned off as a fundrasier for TATAU to continue to be able to fund future visiting top tattoo artists.
Part of a full back piece Cain did for a client.
