Dear Friend of the Bay:
We are excited to announce that our 2016 Taste of the Chesapeake will be celebrated once again at the Rooftop Conference Center of the Belcher Pavilion at the Anne Arundel Medical Center campus in Annapolis, Maryland.
We hope you will join us this year! Last year’s Taste was a sell-out crowd!
This year’s Taste will be an extra special event as we celebrate the Alliance’s 45th Anniversary! Founded in 1971, the Alliance is a trusted non-profit leader in Bay restoration efforts. Our work is uniquely focused on leading, inspiring and supporting efforts to restore the lands, rivers and streams of the Chesapeake watershed to improve water quality and the overall health of the Bay. Last year at our Taste 2015, we welcomed over 300 guests who helped the Alliance raise close to $125,000 for Chesapeake Bay watershed restoration projects.
Every year at the Taste, the Alliance recognizes our environmental leadership award winners and spotlights our progress toward Bay restoration. The Taste is a hallmark community celebration of unique local Chesapeake food and drink, live music, and our sponsors and partners who help make our success possible. It is always a great opportunity to gather with leaders and supporters who are committed and passionate about their communities and the Chesapeake Bay and its watershed.
We hope you will support the Alliance and Bay restoration as a Taste Sponsor! Your sponsorship dollars support our critical programs and our work throughout the Chesapeake watershed community including Project Clean Stream, Businesses for the Bay and Chesapeake Forests. Major donors will receive substantial recognition including a sustainability spotlight at the Taste event, as well as, an immediate spotlight on our website and in our monthly newsletter sent to our over 4,000 supporters.

Together, we will get the job done!
Our MissionThe Alliance mission is to lead, support and inspire local action
to restore and protect the lands, rivers and streams of the
Chesapeake Bay watershed.
Our VisionWe believe the best restoration results come from building strong
and diverse partnerships among individuals, communities,
businesses and governments across the Chesapeake
watershed. We are working towards a future where the Bay and
its watershed experience improved water quality and habitat
through the committed environmental stewardship of those
who live and work in the Chesapeake region.
Our WorkWith staff in Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania and Washington
DC, we work in urban, suburban and rural settings throughout
the Chesapeake watershed. We create and deliver innovative
programs that help plant trees and conserve forests, reduce
stormwater pollution, build individual stewardship, support
local governments in their restoration efforts, and create
opportunities to educate and support our many partners in
their environmental work.

connecting people throughProject Clean Stream
More Than A Stream CleanupProject Clean Stream is an annual event that culminates in a unified day of service to the watershed and hundreds of Bay communities. While the initial impact is a cleaner, safer, more beautiful Bay watershed, Project Clean Stream aims deeper to engage volunteers in a meaningful outdoor experience which connects them with local watershed or community groups. These groups help continue to involve and to educate volunteers in the future of our environment beyond the day’s cleanup project.
The Alliance organizes and hosts opportunities for volunteers to spend a few hours outside cleaning trash from streams or otherwise improving their communities.
Project Clean Stream is coordinated by the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay with organizational support from non-profit and business partners and finacial support from Dominion Resources, the Perdue Foundation, the State of Maryland, MOMs Organic Market and several other businesses and governments. Corporations also participate by organizing employee volunteers to help at cleanup sites.
For more information about this program, sponsorship opportunities or how to volunteer, please contact:

In 2015 44,600 volunteers removedover 3,100,000 lbs oftrash from local streamsand rivers throughout the Chesapeake Bay region.
Project Clean Stream supports all 6 Bay states and D.C. with stream andwoodland cleanups.
Tree plantings andinvasive removals area part of many cleanups.
Volunteers expand their Project Clean Stream efforts to schools, parks, and more.
