Tackling Workless Households

What is the Lift Programme?

The Cardiff East Programme

5 of the 10 Electoral Divisions with the worst unemployment are in the South East locality.

The areas of Cardiff with the highest percentage of households within which one or more persons has limiting long term illness are within Ely, Caerau, Llanrumney and Rumney.

In Llanrumney, 33.02% of children live in poverty

Lift Programme Statistics

2,572 training and employment opportunities

As at 31 October 2015, the Lift Programme had provided:

with 472 people supported into employment

Cardiff East Statistics

27 people have completed basic skills training.

157 have completed vocational training.

73 have completed a work placement

25 have had preparation for full-time employment

and 88 people have been supported into employment
