Swine flu differs from Human fluThe H1N1 swine flu viruses are antigenically very

different from Human H1N1 viruses and therefore,

vaccines for human seasonal flu would not provide protection from H1N1 swine flu viruses!!!

Avoid close contact:-

• with people who are sick.

•When you are sick, keep distance from other to protect them from getting sick too.

•AEROSOLS spread the virus in any environment.

•If possible stay away from work, school, college and errands when you are sick. You will help in preventing others from catching your illness

AVOID TOUCHING YOUR EYES, NOSE,

AND MOUTH

GELNUS are often spread when a person touch

something that is contaminated with gelnus and touches his (or) her eyes , nose and mouth.

PRACTISE OTHER GOOD HEALTH HABITS:-

• get plenty of sleep, be physically active, manage your stress, drink plenty of fluids & eat nutritious food.

•Unnecessary migration of people from epidemic & endemic areas to be avoided.

COVER YOUR MOUTH & NOSE

•Cover your mouth and nose with a

tissue when coughing/sneezing

it may prevent those around from

getting sick.

Protection Steps

How to reduce your risk of contracting swine flu:

Do not travel to areas known to be affected.

Minimize the amount of time spent on public transport especially aeroplanes.

Avoided crowded public places, especially those using recirculated air conditioned air

Wear a surgical grade face mask and ensure it is fitted correctly so that it covers your nose as well as your mouth.

Refrain from touching your mouth with your hands or fingers if they may have come into contact with surfaces contiminated with the virus.

Carefully wipe any surfaces that may have come into contact with carriers such as door handles, toilet flushers, work surfaces and telephones
