About Sankalchand Patel College of Engineering(SPCE),Visnagar
Our College, Sankalchand Patel College of Engineering (SPCE), Visnagar(Dist-Mehsana) established in 1999 affiliated with Gujarat TechnologicalUniversity, Ahmedabad and approved by AICTE, New Delhi.
It is a premier and one of the leading Engineering Institute in North Gujarathaving green lush campus with more than 80 acres.
SPCE accommodates eight departments running six undergraduate courseslike Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering,Electronics and Communication, Computer Engineering, InformationTechnology and 3 Post Graduate Courses like Mechanical (CAD/CAM),Electrical (Power System),E.C (Signal Processing & Communication /Wireless Communication Technology) and Computer Engineering.
About Civil Engineering Department The Department of Civil Engineering came into
existence in the year 2008.
The department has experience faculty memberswith specialization in various areas.
The department offers B. E. programme in CivilEngineering. The department is facilitated withwell equipped state of the art laboratories.
The main feature of the undergraduate programmeis active teaching learning process/Field Visit/Industrial Defined Project / User Defined Projectetc.
Students also undergo extensive Practical Trainingon construction sites during the final year thatcorrelate their studies with actual constructions atvarious sites and strengthen their knowledge. TheDept. organizes expert lectures, group discussions,competitions, sports and other activities for the all-round development of the Civil Engineeringstudents.
Department organizes seminars, symposia andconference for professional interaction.

Team
GTU Innovation Council (GIC) GIC has been designed to establish close bonding between
industries, entrepreneur and students to make research anddevelopment at the University relevant to the needs of industries atnational and international levels.
It aims to involve the industries, along with the students and facultymembers, in an innovation campaign, whereby GTU rejuvenatestechnology education and develops quality research at theUniversity and helps create a culture of design, new and improvedproducts and processes in our industry.
GTU Innovation Council’s first objective is to nurture creativity andinnovation within the University community; it has been designed toact as a catalyst of change for the whole of the society.
The Council targets to create a management system, which uses theexisting structures and facilities by bringing them together forworking for innovation.
GTU’s Student Start-up Support System (S4) GTU has built an ambitious S4 program for its students. With this
program GTU aims to give an experiential learning ofentrepreneurship to its students.
It will also accomplish the following objectives mentioned below:
1. Foster/promote the open source community in Gujarat.
2. Provide students with the latest open source hardware boards andmodules which are in par with the industry
standards.
3. Assist students to create innovative and creative projects that solvereal world problems.
4. Encourage entrepreneurship among students
5. Patent
6. Conduct local events like Hackathon/Workshop etc. to providestudents a platform for showcasing their talents.
The goal of the program is to inspire the students to develop a largervision of their own career and become conscious of their role andcontribution in the act of collective institution and nation building.

Final Year Project Fair-2016 Final Year Project Fair-2016 at Department of Civil Engineering, SPCE,
Visnagar is innovation of the Civil Engineering students of the 8th semester.
The innovative work done by the students under the guidance of professors ofthe Civil Engineering Department has been shown by a poster in Final YearProject Fair 2016.
In this event, Professors, Non-teaching [technical] and students are highlyinvolved to get a success of Final Year Project Fair 2016.
This project fair is arranged for the Final Year Projects as per the guidelines ofGTU
Prof. P. D. Patel, Lecture in Civil Engineering at Swami SachhidanandPolytechnic, Visnagar was called as Expert for the evaluation of the project.
Our mission is to support students in meeting the challenges they face, and tohelp them reach their goals.
Department of Civil Engineering provides platform to explore the hiddenpotential of the students.
Final year students, participated in the event were scrutinized by the academicexperts and they received valuable remarks/ suggestion for the finalpresentation.
The pre-final year students attended the event and learnt about the projectwork who are going to carry out in the final year.
At the end of event, best three projects were selected.
Objectives of Final Year Project Fair-2016
Motivate, Encourage, appreciate the students of Final year for their Project
Work.
Helps the students, who have done the three best projects to carry the
project forward by providing design support and entrepreneurial support,
as required by the students.
Helps the student file a patent if they want,
Provide free 2-days training in soft-skills,
Work with the Integrated Training and Placement (I-TAP) cell of GTU to
help the students obtain interview calls from good companies.
Students of lower semester can see a display of Final Year Engineering
project (based upon IDPS/UDPS) which may have benefited SMEs and
other users and they get encouraged to do the same.
Effective communication in the 21st-century requires that students can
effectively express themselves in writing, verbally, and visually. This fair
serves this purpose.
There were 21 projects poster displayed by students of civil engineering.
Total 59 students were involved in the projects fair.
