Summary of team Germany

Welcome ceremony• songs in Danish, Norwegian and Spanish were very impressing• we liked very much the local songs and clothing• pupils were very disciplinated and concentrated

• many good singers and dancers• a lot of different methods of presentation

What we saw at school• A big variety of methods presented by the teachers:

- Music lesson (Eva): The use of body percussion according to a special plan- 1st grade (Heike): letter learning with all senses following a working plan

• Maths (Veronika): pupils worked with a high

concentration and motivation individual and with a partner at learning stations• Geography (Gerlinde): the use of computer, internet and library• Human body lesson (Sandra): Each pupil built a complex lapbook about the body

The studios:

• interesting method• you build many small groups • pupils from different classes work together• pupils were very motivated• many interestin topics: sport, music, theatre, …

• many flags, posters and pictures about the comenius partners• typical food of the comenius countries was prepared with the children

• exercise books especially produced for Volksschule Stainz help to create an own idendity

What we will take home

• we enjoyed the idea and the use of the structured station plan because: feedback to parents and teacher, self-assessment• the use of carpets for letters and multiplication – good idea!

• the idea to produce lapbooks• small working areas outside the classroom

• spooner boards

• mobile benches
